    Board update

Ok so by now you will have seen the upgraded board. It was a huge step. But there is more to do, because our webhost requires us to move all of our mp3 files to different (paid) storage, which is a real pain. It has been happily sitting on the server for 11 years and now they are unhappy with the amount of multimedia (probably close to 200GB now) of audio on a shared server, which is perhaps understandable. More stuff to come: Stylesheets in the Tracklistings archive to fix; Stylesheets and layout the Gallery archive and easier upload facility; Downloads files to move to Amazon S3 storage; Downloads archive to permit user-submitted files up to 200MB (if larger, Admins can circumvent this cap via FTP in your name, just contact us); "Unknown IDs" section to return in a brand new section, with built-in audio player and user upload facilities; New skin as default theme New embedding code that recognises mp3 / youtube / soundcloud / mixcloud links and embeds them in your posts; Lots of other niggles and tweaks Sorry for the downtime but we hope over the next few months you'll like what you see As we have no advertising on here, this site is all funded by myself personally and FuzzY-LogiC, so thank you for all your support and patience.

    Board update

Hello all It's been a very long time since we updated the software and styling on JJA. So right now and during this weekend we'll be updating the entire website, including this messageboard. ....If you see any missing logos, or stuff broken, don't fret! We really hope you enjoy the new look site when it appears Thanks for your patience! Neuro and the entire JJA team
  3. Jacey B, could you elaborate on this more? Have you a scan of the page maybe... I'm intrigued
  4. Welcome to the board! Now you have made a post, you should be able to download. Every audio has a discussion thread (see below) - please reply in it with your memories, that's all we ask. Enjoy http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/5522-2000-05-05-judge-jules-club-class-atomics-maidstone-kent/
  5. Interesting stuff. Though it doesn't fix the origin of why we should need these earplugs in the first place, if clubs actually balanced their soundsystems better. The amount of times I have stepped into a big club and the bass is so bloody loud and overpowering that all you're getting is your ribcage rattling with a BOOMING 4/4, and absolutely no mid-range texture whatsoever, or melody, which are all lost. It's actually tiresome. Although it can go the other way round with no bass and too much high end: the worst ever ear ringing I ever experienced was actually in the Jazz Cafe in Camden many years ago and it was very obvious from the moment I stepped through the door that the treble was way too high - it actually hurt my ears whilst I was in there and I knew it was bad. I had ringing for 3 days straight, couldn't hear myself, and I'm not afraid to admit that it genuinely frightened the hell out of me. Although it thankfully subsided, I promised myself never to expose my ears to that again... If you ever get it, the best medicine for your ringing ears is definitely absolute silence for as long as you possibly can - and a dose of patience and hope that they will try to fix themselves, although sometimes they just won't get back to the level they were before. Earplugs are cool and everyone should wear them; whether you opt for some high-end ones like these or the cheap foam ones you get from Boots, they offer significant protection than going without.
  6. Great to hear! It was bloody cold up there true. A random student buddy whilst I was at Durham also once told me he was the one who definitely started the "clap" during Push - Strange World, and was delighted it made the recording!
  7. I know it's a Classics sets but really pleasing to see Jules resurrect some surprise gems! Ramirez - Hablando (Push Remix) Beyond - Still Dream Yves Deruyter - Factor Y... Worth a gander anyway https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-TQGz9W_3E

  10. 17 years on and still no clue about Track 14: And also track 12 is still elusive!
  11. Gosh, that moment when track 6 appears just after the 23 min mark.... Must find out what that is. Dave Pearce never got the recognition he deserved. I still remember taping his Dance Anthems show purely for his 3-track minimix near the end, his only chance to play some obscure dance tracks in a show that was otherwise unashamedly Anthem-tastic.
  12. Brilliant video find! That is definitely Amanda, Jules, and Scott Bond at around the 4:00 min mark As these things have a habit of disappearing, tracklisting for that vid, lifted from that youtube thread: Van Gils & De Goeij ‎- I Don't Need You Anymore Ariel - A9 (white label) Storm - Time To Burn (Happy People In The Morning Mix) Dumonde - See the Light (Jam x and De Leon Remix) Mr Spring - Susperia Green Court - Follow Me (Jam x and De Leon Remix) unknown The Conducter and the Cowboy - Feeling this Way Tom Wax & Jan Jacarta - Wormhole Sir James vs. DJ Misjah & DJ Tim - Rushing Access (Prohibition EP)
  13. Welcome to the board! This is going back, but there were a couple along those lines from what I remember - but from around 99/2000. One was "Electronik Battle Babies Vol 1" - that's in a show you can partially download here: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/3479-1999-05-14-judge-jules-studio-session-2nd-half/ The other is a Hi-Gate track called Nappy Hardcore / The Laugh. I might be going mad but I seem to remember Jules once saying he recorded his baby son Jake laughing and then looped it to make a track out of it. That sounds ridiculous now but I'm sure it's true!
  14. Agree with you - strange. I've flagged this for fixing and will post back here when sorted. Sorry for the wait.
