  1. Hello all Unfortunately looks like last night we have been attacked by the spam bots! We are working hard with the webhost to fix it as there is another issue with our MySQL server. Hopefully we will have the threads erased and issues fixed very shortly within the next 24 hours Thanks for your patience. Regards Neuro JJA Admin
  2. "...The irony is these £500 (or thereabouts) smartphones come with these tiny, crappy little pairs of headphones that are actually quite bad for your hearing, so at the very least go any and buy yourself a decent pair..." Great advice from the Judge! Looking smart these days...
  3. One of my favourite sets. I recall our audio mod @FuzzY-LogiC spent a fair bit of time splicing together 3 different recordings to make our mp3 on here the most complete - enjoy!
  4. DJ Scott B - you need to post once on the forums, which you have just done, so you should be all good to go. Any problems with downloading, just shout. Do post back with any memories in the related thread, it's good to hear!
  5. All of Jules's Radio 1 Essential Mixes are on this site, both audio and tracklistings since his first in 1993. The studio mix you're looking for is probably the 1999 one here (after he took all the radio gongs for best DJ): http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/4308-1999-12-05-essential-mix-15-judge-jules-studio-session/
  6. Jules knows about our archives on here but I'm not sure he is aware of how far back our audio and tracklistings go to. Enjoy the set (see Fuzzy-Logic's link above to download)
  7. I can only agree with all of you, although it was Jules's Friday night 9-11pm shows that captured me in 97/98 which just opened the floodgates to a plethora of dance genres for me. The musical memories I have from 1998-2001 will never be bettered in my eyes! It frightened me how short people's memories were and the realisation that this special period was being lost by BBC's non-archiving of Radio 1 tracklistings led me to creating this website and forums you see here today, to make sure we archived and captured the golden era's magical dance moments for others to enjoy and explore for generations to come.
  8. Welcome. What year would this have been? Our earliest Homelands audio in the archive is 1999: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/4685-1999-09-25-judge-jules-homelands-ireland/
  9. Welcome, woppers Sure you do, now you have posted once you can download Do come back and share your memories though, we love hearing people's snapshots of those those good times.
  10. Exactly 14 years ago today, this set was broadcast. For those who haven't yet downloaded a classic show, go give this a listen now and enjoy. Happy Birthday!
  11. They have indeed been obliterated We've no time for bots or spam on JJA!
  12. Welcome! Sure you can download, you just need to actually read the error message Try again now and let us know if you still have any problems. Just come back and share any memories on here; it's what these forums are all about.
  13. Welcome highice. We would absolutely love whatever audio you have - do submit them and if you get any issues, just shout and we'll fix them
  14. One of Jules's bootlegs, only he could really get away with that combo :whistling:
  15. This really isn't ideal. I'll be doing some work this afternoon to try and fix this invasion of spammers. Apologies everybody whilst we clear up the mess.
  16. They've done well to get through! I'll make some front- and back-end changes.
  17. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Avoid!
  18. Jamie, welcome. You have posted once so it should let you download the file now. Try it again and if you are still having problems, send me a PM on this board. About the track, can you reveal any info on how you made it, or whether you got any labels interested? I'm sure there are plenty of members on here who would be curious
  19. Ministry of Sound in London have this problem in the main box - if you're at the back of the dancefloor, because of the positioning of the speakers the result is you're left with way too much bass reverb (that dull 'boom boom boom'!) that vibrates and overpowers absolutely everything at the expense of any musical core. And it's just way too loud. Earplugs work well in this environment to cut out the excess treble sound and ridiculous bass reverb so you can hear some melody I went to Jules's "Like it's 1999!" gig last year and the treble volume was dangerously loud. It hurt. There were postings on facebook the next day about people not being able to hear at all and even perforated eardrums. Luckily (mercifully!) they sold cheap foam earplugs on the floor and they saved my ears, best £2 I've ever spent in my life. Foam earplugs protect your ears OK if you really shove them in, but the proper (more expensive) ones are better because they're more comfortable and they don't block out so much of the warm, safe, "mid" range of the music. It's the piercing treble frequencies that will physically hurt your ears, often permanently.
  20. Welcome to the board! Glad to hear such music from back in the day is still evoking great memories. There's some excellent Essential Mixes in our Audio Archives on here, do have a browse of Jules's ones from 1999 for example. But there's also lots of other Friday night 9-11pm shows which are equally as good if not better - I'm sure people will eagerly recommend their favourites here... Definitely not that I know of, as the original broadcast was free and everyone has recorded radio and TV for years So long as you aren't benefitting financially from the content (i.e. charging people), I don't believe it's any problem. We've never had any issue on here but if for example we started charging for the audio downloads (which we never will) then I imagine we would be approached by the BBC to ask us to remove the audio content.
  21. Welcome to JJA. So we can help, what year are we talking about here? Do you remember the names of any other tracks around the same time so we can try and find it for you?
  22. k00lworld, if this is your actual recording, we would be happy to credit you on here as the original uploader if so? Also, please contact us or submit the other Naughty But Nice set you have from 97, as we would love to have it in the archives here. Thanks
  23. Great track. It's a long time ago but I definitely remember Jules calling this the Twin Weber EP, so you might find it within one of the 4 unknown tracks here... http://www.discogs.com/Blake-Twin-Weber-EP/release/255381 A handful available to purchase too!
  24. No amount of money now can replace your music collection. Keep it all! You will have massive regrets in later life. If you do sell, don't sell in bulk. I know you have 1000s but don't do it, because whoever buys the batch won't value it. Check discogs.com first to see how many others are selling your exact copy of a release, and how many others want it. If you can grade it as M (Mint) or NR (Near-Mint) then sell that vinyl individually via discogs, contacting the "wanters". But I'll go back to my original advice which is don't sell! And make sure your vinyl isn't stored anywhere damp.
