  1. After much criticism on his own board Armin has posted something of a rebuttle. Let me start by saying I think there's nothing more personal than a person's taste in music. You don't HAVE to agree with the results. But I think it's fun, just once a year, to let the listeners of the show decide the playlist. There will always be people who don't agree with the majority. That's totally cool, I think you have to respect everybody's opinion. I really missed some of the tunes that gave me shivers this year. That's why here's my top 10 of this year: 1. DJ Shah feat. Adrina Thorpe - Who Will Find Me 2. Cerf, Mitiska & jaren - Saved Again (3rd moon remix) 3. Nic Chagall - what you need (hard dub) 4. Boy Hagemann - The Space perspective 5. Doppler Effect - beauty Hides in the deep (john o callaghan remix) 6. Global Illumination - Tremble 7. Hybrid - Finished Symphiny (Deadmau5 remix) 8. 8 wonders - Rendez Vous 9. Sean Tyas - One more night out 10. Lange feat. Sarah Howells - out of the sky Agree or disagree but i think 2007 was a good year for trance. Also, I want to thank Peter Kruit for setting up the website once again. You can now see the whole list of tunes @ www.arminvanbuuren.net See you next week for the yearmix. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Armin van Buuren
  2. As usual Armin hands over the voting for this poll to the public & as a result it's probably why the big vocal tracks always win. Not the greatest list of this years tunes... 20. (01.) 3. It's massivley annoying but a fact of life, if you're face (or any other part of you for that matter) fits then you're gona get ahead. Look at some of the bookings across the UK, it seems that people don't care how good a DJ you are just as long as (one way or another) you shift some tickets to the mass commercialised market
  4. Get in! It may have taken me two hours & maye have involved more than a fair share of choice language but I got the b*stard working. Had to sift thru my entire start-up disc for windows & correlate every driver file but finally found the one I needed to re-load. Peversely it wasn't an ASPI file at all but another driver file that was needed, but hey it's done now & I'm able to burn again. Thanks for all the tips of file back-up, as with Steve I'll be looking into it in the new year
  5. Tried ImageBurn just now, exact same error messages. 'Need Windows Original WNASPI32.DLL'
  6. Thanks for that mate, however I think it's pretty much a lost cause, the windows ASPI file is needed to start any programme off that runs from my main driver. An ASPI file is presrnt & for all intents & purposes is the correct one but for some reason windows & nero don't recognise it. I'm gona try & have a go with your suggestion anyway though mate, thanks
  7. It's really annoying me because it's just the one ASPI file that's missing. I've re-installed my drivers using DirectX but it hasn't rectified anything. If there was some way to basically resolve the ASPI problem I wouldn't need to re-boot or anything. Furthermore an actual version of the file is present in the relevant locations, however the system simpy displays the message 'Original Windows ASPI File Missing' & won't attempt to load nero
  8. It was signed to Shinichi a good long while ago but they never released it for some reason, annoying as it was a good bootleg
  9. Cheers lads, considering the external solutions, wanted to create a .zip file & email it to myself but the compression would take forever
  10. Right, Long story short my PC is playing up, in a way that really infuriates me. My driver is nackered & as such I can't burn CDs, playing from CD this is a pain in the arse as I can't burn any new tracks to play. The driver error is a result of the WNASPI file that is needed to load the said driver having somehow been corrupted by a virus, my anti-virus then deleted said file beyond recovery (nice goin eh?) Now the only feasable option I've been presented with is to reboot my system & run the risk of losing all of my tracks which are saved on the hard disc. These tracks number around 380 & take up over 3gig, basically I need a good way to back them up (bear in mind I have no CD burner) which won't take an eternity. Any ideas/thoughts greatly appreciated...
  11. Tylor Leigh is extremely fit, saw her play in Wolverhampton. Decent DJ too but not really my style Amber D is stunning
  12. Nice lineup that, always loved his end of year shows & the '97 show should be wicked
  13. I don't think that they're all like it really, though some US bands definately are quiet. The Strokes are cool with it though, when I saw them last in Manchester the only words Casablancas uttered were 'let the good times roll...' about half way thru, i thought that was class. The Foo Fighters are the antithesis of this though, Grohl verges on doing stand-up comedy for some parts of the show while the others jam in the background, they're an immense live band
  14. Maybe you need to update the version of msn you're using mate as your version may be out of date due to not using it for so long. Hotmail had used to close your email address after a couple of months but it was easy to reactivate so I doubt it's that. If it still doesn't work try using webmessenger
  15. Was just about to post this up to inform the bosh monkeys among you
  16. I seem to remember listening to this live in the car, awesome set
  17. I know that a few people on here are into their rock & indie so thought I'd raise the subject of recent or forthcoming gigs that you've seen or are going to see. Personally have had two cracking gigs over the past two weeks, last Monday I went to see Queens of the Stone Age in Birmingham Academy & last night went to see the magnificent Kings of Leon at the NIA. KOL put on the best show of the year for me by a good distance, flawless performance, note perfect & great stage presence, was superb
  18. Radio 1 in dissapointing listeners shocker!
  19. Was never really my cup of tea musically, but I agree that she was easy on the eye
  20. It's the same chain mate, but the Birmingham one is now closed & has been for about 2 yrs
  21. The two best record stores I used to visit were Massive & the exceptional Three Shades in Birmingham, both were great places to go vinyl hunting. Massive used to throw parties in their basement on occasion too, they had Sasha play an exclusive set there when he launched 'Involver' & Marco V for 'Combi:Nations' Three Shades was always a good place to go too, Paul Thomas (Gods ressie) worked there & used to make sure he reserved me the best trance releases when they came in on import every thursday, happy days
  22. Any downloads I grab I always make time to comment, good or bad. Only trouble I have is with all the mp3 downloads I have to purchase for my own sets I don't have the disc space to download as many sets anymore without compromising performance
