Anyone seeing Oakie 99-00 (cream courtyard anybody?) would appreciate him back then. Still heard some great sets during the next few years afterwards though - although did get spoiled through by his U2/rock influences sometimes!
-
I supplied a cassette to Neuro from Sankeys Soap that might have the last tunes on it, not sure if it is from this date though!
-
That looks a quality Jules inspired set which should go down well on here! Will upload now cheers.
-
Thats quality, I used to get all the one I wanted from a website called freshly mixed (no link!) You could pay $5 for a month and download as many as you liked.
-

-

-

he does indeed say that...
but... can you find the record anywhere? I'm having a hard time finding any proof of such a record (what's not on Discogs is usually on...erhm... HTFR just not in this case )
I did go straight to htfr! and I googled it but no luck.

17. Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
Track 17 is called More Bounce, by Four (Could be For, Four or Fore) Jules actually says it at the end of the tune.
-
Airwave "Save Me" = Classic
-
I have all of Creamfields 99' essential mixes if people want these as well. I would say there even better!
-
I saw Jules and Eddie at Crasher in Sheffield it was well worth the lonely 5 hr train excursion.
Were a bit rough coming home tho. But like I sais it was worth it.
Will go down as one of the best nights of my clubbing career. PvD was on too.
Jules and Eddie were best tho.
How come we never get two headline DJ's down south for that price aswell, I'll be paying about 14 end of Nov just to see Jules.
Not that that's a rip off, well it is actually!
Hold on a sec! when were Jules, Eddie and PVD on at the same event???!!!!!! Actually I dont want to know - it will just depress me......
-
Neverrated it myself and still dont, I got it on a react err.. 18 I think?
Kayestone - 'Atmosphere' (Da Hool Mix) [Distinctive]
Stretch & Vern - 'That Sound' (Nick Sentence Mix) [spot On/VC Recordings]
Spoiled & Zigo - 'More & More' (Flickman Remix) [Manifesto]
are still very much superb for me
Loved - Atmosphere, that was the tune i always remembered this set for.
-
Yeah, this was the infamous 'Mudlands' year....
I have never been so cold in all my life as I was at 6am that Sunday morning!
-
Im sure the trouble when Sandstorm comes on is because the decks got wet as it p***ed it down that day! I dont think its because of the version you have just how it was live.
-
No 10. is - GD - 'Choral Reef'
No 19. is - Digger - 'Episode 1 (Church of Ra)
I think No 22. is a remix of Moonman - Dont be afraid (I dont think its the 99' mix)
-
I known that feeling too... but sometimes "all" it takes is Google and a s***load of luck!
I was actually searching for any information about a whitelabel resembling Agenda - 'Heaven', because i thought it sounded like elements from that record, but i was lucky and found a list on HTFR.com with records named "Touch Me"... including Taskforce
I did use htfr, chemical etc,
I also spent ages trying to find out what Mr Spring - 'Profondo Rosso' was called as I absolutely love it, I was never ever going to find it with that title!!!! I didnt find actually that out until I came on here.
-
you're absolutely right, sorry for missing that one.
It's Taskforce - 'Touch Me' (Thrillseekers Mix) on Y2K records
HALLALOUYA!!!! - Not knowing what certain tunes are called really bugs me!
-
nop, not yet... but Jules play mostly track he also plays in the other sets around this time (which we have TL for), so i don't think it'll be difficult to create a TL.
EDIT: It's the best I could do on the TL... please help out with the rest if you can!
There is definately a track after 'Why Go?' which says Touch Me in it - this has bugged me for 9yrs! it is before 'Let the Freak'
-
Its great to finally have this on mp3, my tape of this was on its very last legs (worn out after 8 yrs of playing)!
In my top 3 of all time Jules sets, the overall style of the tracks at the time and the atmosphere definately made this a classic for me.
-
in no particular order...
Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Mortal Kombat II, Street Fighter II, F-Zero, Zelda - A Link To The Past, Donkey Kong Country...
the list is long and i could go on.... the SNES is (still) the best 16bit machine for me!
I never had an Amiga or C64, but they both have their share of brilliant games... Silkworm and Giana Sisters are some of my faves.
I must admit i've always been a PC man, so what really sits in my memory from that era is the 'Leisure Suit Larry' series, Lemmings and Lemmings II.
just a comment to the poll btw: "Sega (Megadrive, Dreamcast, Genesis..)"
Genesis/Megadrive is the same machine
Genesis = American name
Megadrive = European name
Definately the SNES, its especially great to relive those games you mentioned via emulation.... and the size of about 1 mp3 single!
-
personally i'm most interested in PvD sets from before 2002... as with Jules, i'd say his 'golden era' was around 97-01.
Some specific sets i'd love to have a complete collection off, is the 'Ministry Of Sound Sessions' from 99 and onwards
I have uploaded PVD essential mix live from Home, London from April 2000. It really is one absolutely brilliant Emix (Although quite fast even for me!)

Wasnt too keen on this the first time I listened, but got in to it now after a few listens. Loving the lost witness - Dreams track (Year too late!) Not too keen on the Muse track though.

I remember Jules playing Venga Boys - "Up and Down" back in '98...
