  1. Now I've come across this package, opting for the cheaper CDJ's but the mixer is an EFX mixer with 4 channels and the total price reaches the £550 area nicely still. http://www.decks.co.uk/package/Citronic_MPCDS3_Gemini_PS828EFX_43528 Is an EFX mixer worthwhile do we think? Or should I go for the expensive CDJ's which have effects on them anyway? I'm just thinking that if I get used to the effects on the expensive CDJ's, then upgrade, I have to get used to to
  2. Ableton Live 7 and 8 for me at the moment. It's easy to understand quickly (good if you want to crack on right away) and like Jaylo says, if you get stuck with anything there are loads of videos and tutorials around to guide you with what you are wanting to do. I'll be using Logic at University though.
  3. Other than the bassline that you have had advice on already, I would suggest realigning the acapella too. I had trouble with this on the Corbossy remix, but if you listen to the original BEP it will help you get it into the right place. If it's of any benefit; the first beat should start during the word 'feeling'
  4. I'll be tuned in for the majority of the show. Can't wait
  5. Without having a listen, and based purely on the thread title ... I initially thought of that new 'Pitbull' tune "I Know You Want Me"
  6. I'll check it out for you sir. 'Corbossy' are in the process of making a remix for the competition too
  7. I used HTFR when I had to replace the headphone pads on the Sony's I got from Ian K (wanted black not luminous green hehe). I do find things to be a bit pricey in their catalogue but other than that Im thought they were acceptable really.
  8. Got sent this, and after doing the quick flick through I hated it. I wouldn't be suprised if I fall in love with it as soon as everyone else gets bored though
  9. I used to get mocked at school for watching Gadget Show, but come on, it is a really good show!!! Stopped watching it for a while because it started to get a bit samey, but I will tune in for this. The bald chap is also a local so it's always cool to see a local hero on the telly bizzle
  10. I've been rocking Virtual DJ for the past 5 years
  11. Problem I have is with uni ahead and also a car that I am still running I can't afford to go full on pioneer, but I really want to. I think whilst I am at uni though it may be wise if I take a cheaper option anyway incase they get damaged or possibly even stolen (who knows). When uni is finished and I am still at it then I'll probably sell what I get now and look at a pioneer set up
  12. I'm suprised there are no BMW's involved, or some KFC for afters
  13. Whilst showing my dad some of the options, ideally I would go for a CDJ 200 package but thats waaaay expensive ... and I know I could probably find some cheap on ebay, but as a beginner I feel more secure using a proper site. After a while I'll get comfortable with what I have then no doubt look at getting more stuff like new mixers or whatever on ebay, and maybe even look at upgrading to a full pioneer setup when money rolls in again. Still early days, but after using my software for 5 years I wont be satisfied with a proper beginner package deal! Thats why I'm considering the more expensive option from the links I posted, cos I'll have more to play with but it wont be too challenging
  14. hahaha my internet went t**s up during the posting process, so i started to click refresh in fear that my post was lost. maybe it's a sign ... posted 3 times, buy a 3 channel mixer. looking back at the initial question it does seem a bit daft to be asking, but as im so used to just using a very basic software package im not wanting to make any mistakes, especially at these pricesi bet as soon as i get hands on with it all it will start to make sense, but when browsing nothing but photos its hard to imagine how certain things would work.
  15. Well I probably won't be able to afford another CDJ, but the laptop option is most intriguing. I was trying to work out in my mind how a 3 channel setup would be done and started to confuse myself ... so I came here
  16. I'm in the process of finalising the package deal I want to buy but the dilemma I face is whether to invest more in the actual CDJ's or the mixer. I am looking at getting Citronic CDJ's, and there are two options regarding these (one set of CDJ's being a cheaper option, the other being the updated product with more effects etc). This means if I go for the cheaper CDJ package I have more money to spend on the mixer, which leads me on to the topic ... What is the advantage of using a 3 channel mixer compared with a 2 channel mixer? Will I really benefit from 3 channels? Also, can anyone enlighten me with some knowledge and advice on what is the best thing for me to do in general. Do I invest more in my CDJ's or my mixer? I've given myself a strict budget of £300 - £600 as I am still running my car, and theres the fact I am now a student. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are some links of what I'm looking at ... Cheap CDJ option with cheap mixer option: http://www.decks.co.uk/package/Citronic_MPCDS3_Gemini_PS424x_43438 Cheap CDJ option with more expensive mixer option: http://www.decks.co.uk/package/Citronic_MPCDS3_Gemini_PS626x_43441 More expensive CDJ option with cheap mixer option: http://www.decks.co.uk/package/Citronic_MPCDS6_Gemini_PS424x_42621 More expensive CDJ option with more expensive mixer option: http://www.decks.co.uk/package/Citronic_MPCDS6_Gemini_PS626x_42624
  17. Does anyone know anything about this? I keep coming across videos on www.decks.co.uk where famous DJ's are praising this new kit and wondered if anyone has come across snippets in magazines or anything? (Edit) Video:
  18. friend of mine sent me loads of Corderoy tunes to me yesterday and I really loved them. Kyrie is amazing
  19. Fanjita or c**kles for me ... makes me feel naughty
  20. I've now updated the original post with a 320 kbps link. Everyone is welcome to download and enjoy
  21. I like JM's idea, not exactly going for a stupidly different approach but maybe stepping a tad from the comfort zone I'm gonna try it I think
  22. hahaha I'm still learning! I had jd and fizzy vimto once and my god that was horrid ... never doing that again
