The Progressive Showcase returns this week for episode 162, this time out featuring a slightly different vibe to our usual no-nonsense brand of techno.

For this week's one hour mix I have selected some of my current favourite early doors esque techno, featuring some slower, grooiver tracks. With some extended sets coming up I felt it was a good time to change things up and showcase an aspect of my sound I don't get to play too often, hopefully you'll enjoy the results!

Episode 165 & 166 - Two Hour Live Recording

Episode 165 & 166 of The Progressive Showcase are a little different to usual as they feature a recording of a two hour set I played on Saturday May 12th at a local party.

I've split the set into two parts (for ease of upload/download) and figured that they will serve as an excellent alternative to the usual studio sets which constitute the show.

The set itself was pretty much full on from the outset and features an array of the more dark and harder tracks currently populating my CD wallet. Have not put it up anywhere for download as yet, I usually use soundcloud but as the set ran over an hour (and I'm a cheapskate who can't be doing with paying for the greater hosting capacity) this will not be going on there. I can hook you up with a link tomorrow though.

I get sent some stuff through promo pools but generally I use beatport. I'm loving the fact that most of what I play now is so very niche, meaning it's obscure to find and hardly anyone else seems to know of it!

You are correct you play a very distinctive niche of progressive and techno influenced records that I havent heard many other DJ's play to be honest. That why I like your mixes. One thing, it's a pity about the soundcloud issue (for me personally anyway). Recently bought a new house, and the internet coverage is absolutely dire. With Mixcloud, I find it a lot harder to navigate and scan through because my speed's so bad, compared to soundcloud. Minor gripe, I know, but it's a shame.

Anyway man, keep up the good work! Looking forward to getting through a few of these.
