The Progressive Showcase Returns!!!

After a brief hiatus The Progressive Showcase returns, on a brand new station and with a brand new format!

I've been presenting the show now for very nearly five years, racking up 121 episodes in the process.

With work commitments and other things changing I felt that I needed to re-evaluate the show and make some changes, as a result the show will now be cut to a short, sharp sixty minutes, with two broadcasts a month.

Full details are included below, including listening links and other info...

The Progressive Showcase Celebrates Five Years!

On Monday February 7th 2011 I will be celebrating five years of hosting The Progressive Showcase!

The very first Progressive Showcase was broadcast on Suday February 12th 2006 and in the intermittent five year period I have presented over 120 shows across five different stations.

The sound of the show has evolved over that time and we will be celebrating the history of the show, as well as looking to the future, with a massive five hour extravaganza as the show takes over the entire Innervisions station on Monday February 7th!

I will be updating the thread as the show draws closer but the basic programme for the event is below;

19:00 - 00:00 (GMT) Monday February 7th 2011

http://www.innervisionsradio.co.uk

19:00 - 20:00 The Progressive Showcase 001

I'll be presenting a re-broadcast of the very first show that I ever recorded under The Progressive Showcase name during the opening hour of proceedings to kick-start our anniversary celebrations.

20:00 - 21:00 The Progressive Showcase 126

The second hour of the event will feature a brand new show, packed with the usual mix of brand new music.

21:00 - 00:00 The Progressive Showcase 5th Birthday Special

For the final three hours I will be presenting an uninterrupted, non-stop mix featuring a selection of the tracks that have come to epitomise the show during our five years on the air. Expect a host of all time classic tracks alongside some of the more unheralded tracks that have populated the show during the years.

Of course I will be providing more details as we close in on the big occasion and as I prepare the content for the show. I'm really excited to share such a massive show with you all and have to thank everyone at Innervisions for dedicating the entire night's schedule to me!

Congratulations Tom on 5 years! Sadly I don't get the time to listen as I used to in the good old days, but your shows have brightened up many a commute for me. All the best with the anniversary show and I hope to be able to download some of it after the event. The 3 hour show looks particularly sumptuous

Cheers mate. Will be recording the three hour mix at some point tomorrow (providing our game isn't delayed). Thinking I may split it into two parts for ease of download.

Rest assured there will be some all timers in there ;)

The Progressive Showcase 5th Anniversary Celebrations

Monday February 7th 2011

Exclusive to http://www.innervisionsradio.co.uk

The big event is almost upon us! The Progressive Showcase celebrates five years of broadcasting with a huge event this Monday (7th February) exclusive to http://www.innervisionsradio.co.uk.

Such a milestone could not be allowed to pass without something of a celebration and thankfully I have been able to pull out all of the stops to provide what I hope will be an exquisite audio extravaganza the likes of which the show has not seen before.

For starters the show will be extended to a whopping five hour broadcast as I take sole control of programming for the entire station from broadcast start at 19:00 to close at 00:00 (GMT).

We will be opening the show from where it all began with a re-broadcast of the very first ever edition of The Progressive Showcase. Episode 001 was first broadcast on Galaxy FM here in the UK before commencing the rotation on our first home station in February 2006! The set features some timeless classic tracks from the likes of Perry O'Neil, Markus Schulz, Roland Klinkenberg and many more!

The second hour of the evening will feature the very latest edition of the show as we broadcast episode 126. Expect an hour of contemporary tracks and brand new music from the likes of Umek, Moguai, Manuel De La Mare and more...

The final three hours of the broadcast will feature the part of the show that I am most looking forward to sharing with you as I present an exclusive, uninterrupted three hour mix designed to celebrate some of the classic tracks from the show's existence alongside some of the more personal picks from the mammoth amount of audio we have shared with you since we began all those years ago. Expect to hear some of my all time favourite tracks alongside some forgotten gems which I feel portray the show in the light that I intend it to be - a means of sharing music with you all each month and unearthing new artists as we go. During this massive extended mix expect to hear an array of tracks from classic artists like Pryda, Perry O'Neil, Probspot, Gabriel & Dresden and loads more!

The full schedule for the event is below:

All times in GMT

19:00 - 20:00 The Progressive Showcase Episode 001

20:00 - 21:00 The Progressive Showcase Episode 126

21:00 - 00:00 The Progressive Showcase 5th Anniversary Special

I very much hope that some of you can tune in to share in this huge milestone in the show's existence!
