  1. I have been listening to this set repeatedly for the last few days. Awesome, awesome stuff. I absolutely love that Nukeluz purple sound from back then. This download has also reminded me of a few tunes I need to add to the collection. Thanks for uploading.
  2. I've finally gotten round to scanning in some Jules related articles I'd collected back in the day. Unfortunately, of all the cuttings I had many were duplicates of the ones already up on the archive. However, I still have some original content to add, so have a look at these. There's still a few more floating around somewhere that I can't find. Hopefully I will be able to upload some more in the future. I'll leave them in my Picasa account until they've been put into the archives proper. Here's the link: Assortment of Jules Scans Enjoy!
  3. Downloading now. Thanks for the work Fuzzy!
  4. Is there any chance someone could send this to me please? I'd really like to hear it.
  5. As for the track as a whole, I think you need a heavier kick and more sub. I'd filter the current bass line to keep the bass and mid then add a square or sine for the low end sub then compress the two of them together. In terms of top end. Sample quality is all important. Make sure you've got good quality samples from all the Roland machines which are a must. Try experimenting with panning and different levels of delay and reverb for different percussion tracks. Don't JUST have a one size fits all send reverb, though used subtly this can be useful to tie all tracks in together. All that being said, for your first production this is sounding very good. My first tune was a shocker! Keep at it and post back any results
  6. Well I can say after listening to those clips, only one caught my attention and I already have that on vinyl! Shoddy remixes all round.
  7. I still have them up for grabs so let me know if you're still interested! It is a new financial month now after all!
  8. Hello ladies and gents. Due to an extreme restriction in the amount of space in my house and the ever increasing burden in the shape of new vinyl, I've finally had a clear out of records. It's a bit of a rag tag bunch but let me know if you're interested in any. Some tunes from Jules' turn of the millennium playlists. If they’re not taken, will be listed on discogs / ebay. 9. Used to love the prodigy? Still well worth loving if you ask me!
  10. 500w should be ample for the size of the marquee and the number of people. Bear in mind though that sound systems outside will need to be played louder than you would need them indoors where they rely on the echo caused by hard walls to make to sound fuller. You'll get some bounce back, and weird reverb depending on where you're standing, but not as much as hard walls. The bigger the tent gets the odder the sound will be in terms of reverb etc.
  11. Clearly you're not using it right in the first place if you've gotten bored with it by now!
  12. I'm actually a fan of the new designs. It's a presentation of our heritage in an interesting and modern way - the best of both worlds. Yes, change for change sake isn't the right attitude, but blindly sticking with something because it's tradition has no merit either.
  13. All I can say is go on Rio. I can't stand Terry and Gerrard was a terrible skipper.
  14. Arrived a few days ago. To say I have been putting it into heavy rotation would be somewhat of an understatement!
  15. Tune wise, I think Jules had a bit of an upward turn in 2004. The essential mix he did live from the Tidy Weekender with Haslam and the Tidy boys was excellent, save for a bit of dodgy acapella application. Good mix of techy trancy stuff going on. It seems there were lots of nice trance numbers around this time. Matt Darey had a stormer of a year in 2004 in my book.
  16. No probs. Tracklist should be fairly easy. Loads of big tunes in there: F&W, Thrillseekers, Dogzilla, Digital Delay, etc. Just haven't got round to sitting down with notepad open and going though it all. Should be a few more where this came from too.
  17. To be honest, I wouldn't have though Jules would have a problem with doing a daytime show. He's got fairly good radio presenting skills which will be easily transferable. That said though, in the latest show of his I listened to he was reading links instead of ad libing them. Terrible! Edit: Sort of heard him on Jo Whiley's show today when I was at work. I think he's doing classic/cheesy/chart dance stuff.
  18. The sound quality of the carts designed for DJing is superb, so no doubt the detail you'd get from these, which are aimed at ripping, will be very high quality. The only thing I would say is the lack of a replacable stylus will mean you'll have to buy a whole new cart when they come to the end of thier life. Then again, my Ortofons last ages so shouldn't be too much of a problem. You might find this info of use when you set them up.
  19. It's all about the Claxxixx and Tall Paul Remix. The original just never got going enough in my book. Both these mixes insert the much needed banging factor that the original lacked.
  20. Unfortunately not! It is top notch when you find a good one though, like finding a tener on the street!
  21. Just got the MG Remix 2 in the post today. Unfortunately it sounds nothing like the one I was after. At least I know with, relative, certainty that it's the number one mix now!
  22. My thoughts are exactly the same. I've got nothing but good things to say about my Ortofons. They produce a really reliable and durable cart which tracks well and has fantastic sound quality. It's hard to complain with that really. I was just interested to see if anyone had used them and how they sounded in comparison.
  23. While the majority of you kids have probably jumped over to CDs and or laptops some of us luddites still insist on a pair of turntables in the essential DJing setup. It's come to that time again when I have to get new styli. My old carts were Ortofon Nightclub's with elliptical styli. This range has now been discontinued and replaced with a flash orange MKII model. Has anyone used these? I'm more than happy with my old nightclubs so will probably get the new model when I've got some cash together but some thoughts and comments would be useful.
  24. Track ten is Blockster - You Should Be Dancin', which was the bootleg release with orginal samples. Edit: Track twenty one is Rhythm Masters pres. Disco Dubbers - Ibiza In My Soul (Rhythm Masters Vocal Mix)
