  1. its a bit of a tricky one Tristan i think probably does do an ok job on the filtering sides, and poss is genuine, and probably does send jules decent tunes, where its upto jules to pick the best of the rest out, but ultimately its down to personal taste, and if jules and tristan's is very similar then thats where the issue is. take for example when in the early days simon Patterson did the filtering job, he obviously has a more banging and uplifting tune taste, so therefor=better tunes. i doubt jules would play something he didnt like, nor produce them, so my only assumption is he likes these sometimes tunes and crap booties??? Or he's trying to be a carbon copy of tiesto, as he went a bit cheesey and did similar things.
  2. tbh it proably wont be more likely to be andi durrant if anything......
  3. gareth emery does play a broad music spectrum, from progressive, tech to peaktime trance, but i have to agree, he does play the same tunes week in week out i have to agree the only people i could see, or who id want to see on radio 1, would be above & beyond on the basis of 2 reasons, popularity & also 1 member of them is always available to host the show live. gareth emery for example is quite a globe trotting dj, and most shows would be pre-recorded, where as above & beyond only ever dj live as a duo, not all 3 members meaning 1 of them could do a live show, i.e the member that stays at home. However they have a big fan base with the syndicated trance around the world shows, so possibly could rule them out? Andi durrant has been mentioned as the replacement, but he's not big household name, but has a big fan base on the galaxy network i recently twitered him with the link to matt hardwick forum, asking if he's moving to bbc radio1, got this reply which you can read into how you want: " @dj_iank Wow.. that's a lot of speculation! Obviously whether it's true or entirely wrong I couldn't comment on twitter though "

  12. depending how much money you have to spend you could always buy a NAS (network attached storage) solution this could be best if all its gonna be used is in the house hold. Basically its a drive that attaches to your internet router, and shares it over the network, and decent ones have drive redundancy on them known as RAID, basically if 1 drive should break its backed up onto another drive inside the system. in terms of how much files will fit, on average dj mixes are about 100mb, so you'd get get alot onto a 500gb drive, in terms of music, decent quality is usually 320kbps, = 15-20mb per file, i've got a 250gb hdd in my macbook pro, and have about 4000 files at that resolution with 50gb free. in terms of if you go for a usb based hard drive, if you've no free usb ports you may need a splitter, be careful though, if the drives taking it's power out of the usb port, this could be an issue, as there might not be enough power via a splitter, in an ideal world plug the drive directly into the usb port and use the virtual dj adapter via the splitter. whats a nas? http://www.zdnet.co.uk/reviews/nas/2003/05/07/network-attached-storage-10004049/ http://www.bestpricecomputers.co.uk/reviews/advice/network-attached-storage.htm
  13. it does look up and down this, take a random bunch of old tracks, and a few newbies that are the big tracks in the cd wallet/floorfillers and bang them onto 3 cds
  14. you can get decent sized usb powered hard drives for laptops now days, in around 500gb-1tb variants if you have a laptop you probably want a usb powered hard drive. the difference is basically that USB powered hard drives use laptop hard drives inside them, and therefor are smaller, and dont require a power supply to be carried about, basically a laptop drive inside them, so uses less power. the other type is the ones that need a power supply, which are bigger, but usually come in bigger sizes, but need the power supply box to be lugged around. as i've a laptop i've got 3 external 2.5" usb powered hard drives.

  23. yehh but its good to be patriotic and behind your home country's team. ultimately everyone knows england probably wont win the world cup but its nice to have a try, theres also 6/1 odds of them winning. Probably due to them being ranked 6th in the world.
