Aza
Missed this unfortunately as I went out! Gonna 'listen again' and record it - looks cracking! I was thinking of possibly starting up a collection again as I used to back in the day. I used to tape record every Jules show week in week out, but stopped after a while as things got a bit hectic! I might start recording the show on comp and putting each show on dvd-r as a collection!
Aza
Starting from this week (i've done the same with halliwells residency got them all pretty much from the start :))
Chrissie Brown
I went out last night at 7.30 to a surprise birthday party for one of the girls at work. I managed to record the whole show onto tape by recording the 1st 30 mins on one tape and then used another tape for the remaining 90 mins. l don't like recording from the "listen again" feature as the quality isn't very good. However l have well over 500 tapes which is ridiculous really but l'm afraid l can't stop. Problem is I'm running out of storage space.
Aza
Yeh I had the same problem with storage Chrissie. My tapes from around 2001-2003 time are boxed up and in the attic. I used to do the same with Fergie, but tend not to listen as much to his shows. The listen again feature I think is great. I can record them to my hard drive and save the quality at CD quality. I then store the file as mp3 at 160kpbs, which is v.good quality. I'll get a few then burn them to dvd disc or something and start a collection - in the long run will save loads and loads of space and also look neat and tidy as you can have the tracklisting as a text file in the same folder
Chrissie Brown
It's something l must look into but its just finding the time to get someone to sit here with me and teach me how to do it. It's like most things, its easy when you know how.
Simcut
Hehe, seems as if most of us recorded Jules at some point, I recorded loads of his shows from 1998-2000 ;D full 2 hours for most too this show was pretty good, the highlight was hearing X-Cabs again, I LOVE it..... Aza
Yeh - although I did hear Jules mention about British only tracks and regarding 'Jan Loper' he said he is from Birmingham, yet his website is at a dutch commercial i.e. 'janloper.nl'... Chrissie Brown
this show was pretty good, the highlight was hearing X-Cabs again, I LOVE it..... This was the first time l have ever heard it and must say l really liked it. Tim, Did you email Jules suggesting this tune be played on the show. :?: If not then there must be others that also love this track.
Simcut
Im sure Tim gave Jules a little poke (ooo err missus!) to play it, and rightfully so, what a classic! Jules if u read this, cheers for playing Neuro 99, what a tune! You REALLY must do a monthly classic mix or something, would love for you to do that.....revisit the days of 99/00 with a special half hour mix once a month rammed with golden oldies, im sure myself and Tim and others can help you with it? Anyone else think this would be a great idea? hearing songs like X-Cabs again brought back so many memories :-)
Chrissie Brown
Yeah l agree. I think he ought to play a classic tune each week on his show. Really miss the "Gone but not forgotten" feature. Keep meaning to email him about it.
bigsteve
I like how Jules has played one or two classics on his show recently (Starparty started it off I think) although any more than a couple a week is going to rob time from the show and less new tracks will get played. I'm afraid I see Jules' show as 2 shows as it is atm, a Funky show and a Trance show. If he was to play less Funky, it wouldn't be so bad. And I used to tape Jules' show as well! Because my car only had a tape player, it was good listening to and from work at 5 in the morning when not a lot else was on the radio.
