Post A Lyric

Recommended Posts

Clearly stolen thread from GK Board but it worked well on there, lots of quality lyrics and being as my dissertation is focusing on lyrics would be nice to see ya all pitch in  My effort...

The world seems outta touch,

I don't get out too much,

And i don't feel the same in the bones anymore,

My heals are all worn down,

My loyalties are torn,

I'm finding different paths now I didn't see before,

And the paths lead me away,

Lead me away from those,

Blood thirsty b*stards,

Makin plans for no-one,

But themselves,

In this world of disaster i just need someone for myself,

All the sycophants and vampires

I cast them off to hell,

I've been up for days now i hope no-one can tell.

Mr Barat at his best, probably some of the best lyrics on 'Waterloo to Anywhere' and went down a storm last night at the gig.

Ideally I'd find some Pet Shop Boys' lyrics but for now you'll just have to do with Shelton Blake's track - "The Truth About Men"

We don't like to go out shoppin',

We don't care what's on sale.

We just want to sit with a bag full of chips,

Watchin' the NFL.

When you come over at half-time,

An' say: "Does this dress fit too tight?"

We just look you in the eye with a big fat lie,

An say:"Uh, uh: Looks just right."

Well, that's the truth about men.

Yeah, that's the truth about us.

We like to hunt and golf on our days off,

Scratch, an' spit, an cuss.

It don't matter what line we hand you,

When we come draggin' in.

We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,

An' it's probably gonna happen again.

We hate watchin' "Steel Magnolias".

We like "Rambo" an' "Die Hard 4".

Jump up and down like fools when we see the new tools,

At the Home Depot store.

We don't really wanna take you to dinner,

At some fancy restaurant.

The only reason we do is 'cause we know it leads to,

The one thing that we all want.

Well, that's the truth about men.

Yeah, that's the truth about guys.

We'd rather play guitars and work on cars,

Than work on the problems in our lives.

An' though we might say it to you,

Every now and then,

We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,

An' it's probably gonna happen again.

Well, if you want to know what we're all thinkin',

It's nothing too complex.

It's just somethin' cold for drinkin',

And a whole lot of s-e......

Yes, that's the truth about men.

Yeah, that's the truth about us.

We like to hunt and golf an' drive around, lost,

Scratch, an' spit, an' a whole lot of other disgustin' stuff.

It don't matter what line we hand you,

When we come a-crawlin' in.

We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,

An' it's probably gonna happen again.

We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,

An' it's probably gonna happen;

Sure, it's gonna happen;

You know it's gonna happen again.

An' that's the truth about men.

You know it, son.

I speak to myself but on my own terms

I put Gin in my milk

To kill all the germs

As i pray for the day the light will return

And i pray for myself but i never learn

No I never learn

See i really like you,

But i'm nothing like you

I try really hard

But don't get too far

You get my respect

But we don't connect

We're in this together

So i love you forever

I love you forever

Carl singing about a certain mr Doherty

I'm not saying it was your fault

Although you could have done more

Oh you're so naive yet so

How could this be done

Your such a smiling sweetheart

Oh and your sweet and pretty face

In such an ugly way

Something so beautiful

That everytime I look inside

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it may be

She's still out to get me

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it may be

She's still out to get me

I may say it was your fault

Cause I know you could have done more

Oh you're so naive yet so

How could this be done

By such a smiling sweetheart

Oh and your sweet and pretty face

In such an ugly way something so beautiful

Everytime I look inside

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it may be

She's still out to get me

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it may be

She's still out to get me

How could this be done

By such a smiling sweetheart

Oh you're so naive yet so

Such an ugly thing

Someone so beautiful

And everytime you're on his side

I know she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it maybe be she's still out to get me

And I know she knows that I'm not fond of asking

True or false it maybe be she's still out to get me

Just don't let me down

Just don't let me down

Hold on to your kite

Just don't let me down

Just don't let me down

Hold on to your kite

Just don't let me down

Just don't let me down

Hold on to this kite

Just don't let me down

Still one of my fave tunes of the moment. They're down here at Norwich next week, shame I missed out on tickets  just seen two going for £82 on ebay :(

This is not a movie

Things just ain't the same as your favourite video

Try standing back and move me

next to you's a very nice place to go

Talk talk to Suzie!

"I went through a million choices."

Talk ... Suzie! (?)

"I listened to a million voices"

And they said...

"Don't let me down" they said

"Don't let me down again"

No no...

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!"

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!"

Oh no no no

Read not what the stars say

There's an evil lurking round every door

It's not enough to make you leave me

And I never wanted you to go

Talk talk to Suzie!

",I went through a million choices"

Talk ... Suzie!

"I listened to a million voices"

And they said...

"Don't let me down" they said

"Don't let me down" they said

"Don't let me down again"

No no...

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!"

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!"

Oh, time has leering on

So take another breath

And taste this one more time again

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!",

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!",

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment

"I'm yours, tonight!"

There are fewer more distressing sights than that,

of an Englishman in a baseball cap

who will die in the class he was born,

Well that's a class of our own my love

A class of our own my love

One Peter Doherty in 'Time for Heroes'

And it occured to me i think on Lambeth Road,

There's no need to question life or cry for what i'm owed,

And now it's over, and now it's done,

The English sun is setting and the rudeboys on the run.

One Carlos Barat in 'If You Were Wondering'
