Quadrant
They say electronic music has fractured into an array of diverse genres but I was amazed to discover the breadth of pornography types on the Internet whilst browsing at work yesterday evening. Quadrant
Don't worry Bjorn I've installed Windows Wiper (aptly named) and some History clearing progs - all a bit of a laugh really between the guys in the office as we sabotage some of the young girls' PCs whilst they're away. Some of the PCs are a bit old though and tend to 'freeze', leading to embarrassing "switch-off-the-monitor quick" phases if the acting manager comes round whilst it cold reboots. Standard phrase now is "why is your computer switched off, [name]?" even though it probably isn't, and if it is - the answer is always that it 'crashed'. Quadrant
Going back to this, a lot of sites at work are blocked now - thankfully not this one. Although, then again, this messageboard is not of a pornographic nature, is it?

Moonman
i thought the same tom!Be careful quad, most companies monitor what is viewed by employees and a lot get sacked over it! in my old IT job i nearly got the bullet for internet misuse. My saving grace was that i logged in anonymously and they technically, couldnt prove it was me. I got pulled into Senior Management office in front of everyone. They pulled out a thick wad of paper with all this internet activity on it, i thought s***. It had all the sites i had been on, even all the JPGS i looked at. If i had logged in on my works account i'd have got the push, but i logged on anonymously (as the workstation itself) and i had to sit their lying my ass off in front of senior management and my supervisors - this was about 2 months before i joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary so i didnt really care about lying - i had my impending coppers job to protect!!. Wasnt fun and i wouldnt wanna do it again, especially in my line of work now. They presented all their evidence to me, i simply then asked who was logged in at the time all this activity was happening? I asked them to show me that it was me. They couldnt, although they knew it was me they never had anything concrete in black & white. I was very lucky! 2 weeks after i left, my buddy who also worked in IT at the same company got the push, for internet misuse! Oh and the level of monitoring these companies use is quite unbelieveable. be careful out there peeps, working in IT i had some idea who extensive it was. If you feel your privacy is breached they are as bad as you.... he's a metaller. He runs www.boro-bands.co.uk and he was basically updating his site and putting adverts on it during work time. The fact he stayed on his own message board ALL DAY didnt help. He had a little secret forum which we all used to log onto and bitch about work...i think someone found it who shouldnt have....Oh he also gave a speech to everyone on Internet Misuse about a month before i left so it became a case of Pot Kettle and Black... I got away with an internet ban and a final warning in the end looking back. But that was cos i had just handed my notice in. I was a bit silly in a way, though i was untouchable cos i got the police job etc...but you never really are. So peeps just be careful!
Aza
That is quite harsh - not as if anything naughty was done. I bet there are loads of people who use the net for social reasons in work! Moonman
by the way speaking of Porn, the absolute best site is Bangbros.com, ladies close your eyes now....... The women they have on there are immaculate!!! Sorry for lowering the tone peeps.
Chrissie Brown
The last time l worked in an office the computers didn't have internet because we didn't need it. TBH how would you like it if you had a business and staff were on the net (for social reasons) when you are paying them to do a job of work. It's different if you are using it in your own time.
