Simcut Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Hello ladies and gents! My CD player in my car has died on me, every CD comes up with a "TOC Error" Please can you recommend me a decent cd player that supports mp3s and that is ranged between £40-£60. Prefer one with a button rather than a dial for volume etc... Thanks guys.
Aza Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 This ain't much help because I haven't looked at the market mate, but I have a sony rx-3300, had it for easily 3 years, heavy use, mp3, button volume and still going good. I'd recommend a Sony
Moonman Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 i have a pioneer one. Its served me so well. Never had any probs with it, also had a kenwood before it got nicked. Again, solid player.
Bjorn Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 i have an alpine one with an ipod control uni too.. Put it in my car along with full speaker upgrades & a subwoofer, lol Prob out of your price range tho, but i would reccomed alpine, prob one of the top couple car radio manufacturers
Neuro Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 A "TOC Error" is short for Table of Contents, which means your CD player cannot read the bit nearest the centre hole of your CD, which has all the information about track marks, names, etc. - which effectively means the laser is out of kilter or damaged. If it can't read the TOC on a CD, it doesn't know what to play, or how long for, so it will keep ticking inside trying to read it until you manually stop it. Useless info really but the long and short of it is, I hope you find a new CD player!
JasonB Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Aldi do decent uns when they do em on t odd occasion I has found. I dont see the point of spending loadsa wonga on cd players for cars myself, a mate has had a pioneer un for 2 years and its died on him, 300 quid down t drain he nees a new un now.
