JasonB
Saw in wooolies yesterday, yes another classics comp with a random new stuff cd with it , not that jules is random or owt you get what I mean though. and if Kristine Blond - Love Shy (Electrique Boutique Vocal Mix) and Happiness happening are the future! seems odd those two among all tothers being new, but the best cd out of the 3 the way i see it, theres been too many classics mixes, who needsd another 2 cd's of em. Bjorn
said this on matt hardwicks board - the cd is again pure money grabbing - as if the mixing is done by those dj's with up to 17 tracks per cd it is heavily edited. Yawn..

Yawn.. Yeah. How many 'Classic' CD's are Crasher going to release? Each one has the same tracks as the last. It's a joke.
Neuro
These inopportune releases merely blur, distort, and undermine the reality of true quality releases over the past decade. And Bjorn you're right about the packing of tracks onto a CD - I hate the editing; it shows quantity not quality, unfortunately

Uberduck
Easier to make a 'Mix CD' yourself these days AND get exactly what you want on it. I always thought it a bit odd how people (myself included) get so excited about mix CD's when it'd be easy to make an exact replica yourself. It's a different story with live sets as they bring with them atmosphere but CD's would be a piece of piss to replicate. In fact, you'd be able to make a better version as you wouldn't edit tracks etc. I guess it's just the fact that the DJ has put their name to it I suppose? Gregg
Easier to make a 'Mix CD' yourself these days AND get exactly what you want on it. i've been doing that since 1998. ironically, the crasher albums were the only ones i bought religiously, although i stopped buying them new after the s*** 'Digital' EDIT - The Crasher Forever album was actually a MOS album if I remember rightly. I wouldn't be surprised if this was as well. I guess the classics albums make more money than the current/future albums.
Bjorn
think Crasher albums became MOS at the first classics one. Most up to then were really good, I have them all pretty much apart fro mthe classics ones & 'forver' pfft. Resident Transmissions, the live one - all really good, but when they start cramming tunes onto a cd it just makes its crap as you really want to hear the full tune, not minutes of it! Rant over! Crasher are selling out more & more these days..
Quadrant
How do you mean by "selling out"?
Uberduck
Selling out basically means someone is using their fame and popularity to cash in on their success. In this case we're suggesting that Crasher are using their fame as such a dance superpower to commercialise their brand (further) and make loads of dollar. I guess you could argue that it's only their right to make money from the popularity they have created. Personally I find it a bit disheartening as it sort of goes against everything I like about dance music and the events I attend. These 'Classic' albums lack imagination as they're all composed of the same tracks everytime. How many times can you make money out of what are essentially clones of previous compilations you & others have released??
Chrissie Brown
Easier to make a 'Mix CD' yourself these days AND get exactly what you want on it. Totally agree Steve. I did that with my tape casettes and I've now made a start putting my fav tunes on Cd's but its quite time consuming. I'm not going to waste my money on this Crasher CD. CD1 & CD2 are old hat and the tunes on CD3 can be heard on Jules "Mix sets" on his website.
bigsteve
tunes on CD3 can be heard on Jules "Mix sets" on his website. And another good point there! Most radio shows ('proper' radio or internet radio) and DJ's sets are widely available to download for free. Over the years the music industry has had it way too good; its pay back time
JasonB
You can get away with 17 tracks in 80 minutes with creative mixing! but yes gaurenteed editing maybe.... on some longish tracks yesh.
