The Last Saturday Warm Up

Whoa - nice 1 Steve on spotting this - I totally overlooked this and yes, it will be a sort of sentimental thing as Tim expertly pointed out; short of 10 years by one date - that it an achievement in itself, holding that on probably the world's best radio station at such a prime time (times have moved slightly about - 7-9pm was the best :))

As mentioned above sadly, this will probably also be my last time listening in live...

Will try get a shout tonight for one and all :D

It's the end of an era. When Jules started on a Saturday night, I was 11 so you could say I have grown up with the show throughout my teenage years. My first memory was sitting in my Mum's car on a roasting hot day listening to him playing the catchy 'Spacedust - Gym & Tonic' and professing that this was going to be a hit. I will miss listening to it on a Saturday night as I get ready for the night ahead.

Good to have Jules on a Friday night though because his Friday shows in the past were superb. I can always listen again and occasionally I will be able to tune in live. I'm pretty optimistic for it actually :D

i dunno, i think over the nexy year or two we may very well see young Mr Halliwell in the hotseat on a saturday night. Two years from now being when trance will become big again like 1999...well so i predict anyway

i dunno, i think over the nexy year or two we may very well see young Mr Halliwell in the hotseat on a saturday night.

I doubt it though - I mean, the whole reason behind this schedule change was to split the dance from the urban shows (long overdue too IMO) - with Dance being on Friday, and Urban on Saturday.

If anything, Eddie will be Jules's eventual successor when he decides to hang up his headphones.

I think when Jules's hangs up his headphones as a club DJ, he'll eventually replace Dave Pearce - and will just be a radio presenter, whilst Eddie will fill the "specialist" seat left by Jules.

Annie Mac will be Tong's replacement. I reckon that is why Radio 1 brought these DJ's in so that they're groomed as eventual successors.

Lets face it, Eddie wasn't radio material a couple of years ago - he had a poor radio personality, but he's come on a lot now and sounds the real deal.

Sorry, I can assure you that I listed all the regulars on here and also mentioned the board.

I can verify that too as Steve & I were discussing this on msn earlier in the day. I texted in too, so not sure what he read, but if he did, he read out the shout and dint mention me :(

I will need to re-listen, but I think he mentioned Steve twice, getting muddled up with what I put for Simon...

Steve: did you send the msg as we discussed earlier in the day?

If not, I believe read my text (which I'm gutted ever more cos he missed my name [cries now]), and deffo must've mentioned 'Steve' for 'Simcut' after probably glancing at the shout and of course 'BigSteve' for your kind self :)
