bigsteve
So tonight is Jules's last Saturday Warm Up and probably my last ever live listen to his show. Although I haven't listened as much lately, it will be a real shame to not have him about on Saturday evenings anymore
Neuro
Well, the Saturday show has been going for precisely 10 years (18th October is the actual date), so if there was a time for change, now is as good a time as any
Max Kane
Will try & grab the last half hour or so if I'm around, hopefully the Friday shows will be something of a return to the old style Jules' shows
Aza
Whoa - nice 1 Steve on spotting this - I totally overlooked this and yes, it will be a sort of sentimental thing as Tim expertly pointed out; short of 10 years by one date - that it an achievement in itself, holding that on probably the world's best radio station at such a prime time (times have moved slightly about - 7-9pm was the best ) As mentioned above sadly, this will probably also be my last time listening in live... Will try get a shout tonight for one and all

Moonman
yes it'll be a shame. I'll still be listening to his friday night shows though. I'll try and get a shout outfor everyone.
Stuart F
It's the end of an era. When Jules started on a Saturday night, I was 11 so you could say I have grown up with the show throughout my teenage years. My first memory was sitting in my Mum's car on a roasting hot day listening to him playing the catchy 'Spacedust - Gym & Tonic' and professing that this was going to be a hit. I will miss listening to it on a Saturday night as I get ready for the night ahead. Good to have Jules on a Friday night though because his Friday shows in the past were superb. I can always listen again and occasionally I will be able to tune in live. I'm pretty optimistic for it actually
thirddrive
I shall be raving in front of the stereo for one last Saturday night! I will miss it as the warm up to whenever I go out on a Saturday evening, but I can't wait to hear the format for the new show next Friday. Bjorn
will be fully tuned in to this round my mates getting suitably 'warmed up' for the night ahead, it is indeed sad to see the sat nights gone, i have really enjoyed themj - its gonna be a while before we see trance in a prime slot again
Moonman
i dunno, i think over the nexy year or two we may very well see young Mr Halliwell in the hotseat on a saturday night. Two years from now being when trance will become big again like 1999...well so i predict anyway
Briggsy
i dunno, i think over the nexy year or two we may very well see young Mr Halliwell in the hotseat on a saturday night. I doubt it though - I mean, the whole reason behind this schedule change was to split the dance from the urban shows (long overdue too IMO) - with Dance being on Friday, and Urban on Saturday. If anything, Eddie will be Jules's eventual successor when he decides to hang up his headphones. I think when Jules's hangs up his headphones as a club DJ, he'll eventually replace Dave Pearce - and will just be a radio presenter, whilst Eddie will fill the "specialist" seat left by Jules. Annie Mac will be Tong's replacement. I reckon that is why Radio 1 brought these DJ's in so that they're groomed as eventual successors. Lets face it, Eddie wasn't radio material a couple of years ago - he had a poor radio personality, but he's come on a lot now and sounds the real deal. bigsteve
Yeah, Jules read it very quickly. I listed many people, but I guess I put too many down and he picked out a few. I heard Tim, Dormouse, Bjorn and myself. I promise I listed others too!

Aza
Sorry, I can assure you that I listed all the regulars on here and also mentioned the board. I can verify that too as Steve & I were discussing this on msn earlier in the day. I texted in too, so not sure what he read, but if he did, he read out the shout and dint mention me I will need to re-listen, but I think he mentioned Steve twice, getting muddled up with what I put for Simon... If not, I believe read my text (which I'm gutted ever more cos he missed my name [cries now]), and deffo must've mentioned 'Steve' for 'Simcut' after probably glancing at the shout and of course 'BigSteve' for your kind self
