Disc two looks quite good, but disc one looks as dull as dishwater. I'm staying well clear though if there's that many tunes on CD. He's done one the past three years & by putting them together using albeton it creates a really cool summary of the year, using bits of tracks & vocals pasted together, it should be rubbish but works quite nicely. The year mix he did for 2004 is by far & away the best, absolutely incredible tracks, I still listen to it regularly Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought it was a typical CD compilation with loads of tracks butchered down just to help flog a CD. I should have known better to be honest - only Ministry Of Sound do daft things like that. As Tom says, the first one in 2004 was immense and I still listen to it now. Unfortunately, some of Armin's shows have been badly structured as he tends to veer off down the techy route mid-show and then return to 'proper' trance again. I've been thinking this - even just listening to Jules's Essential Mixes in '95, and then '99, '03, and then today in '07 - they're all worlds apart musically, and I guess we all identify with different eras. I know I do. definately, i'm all about the 1999/2000 sound. That was when it was best. To be honest today's sound just bores me. It doesn't do anything for me. I suppose thats why i've gone back to my metal/rock routes and started playing the old guitar again. Oh, i forgot to mention i've also sold my CDJ's too....putting the cash toward a motorbike!
