Briggsy
Cheers chaps! Only just noticed this thread. Well, it depends which way you look at it really - on the whole, it was fairly quiet - however, I suppose to have the venue at just under a quarter of its capacity, for the first event, on a Thursday night before the bank holiday weekend at the quietest time of the year with no students around, etc, then we could say it was a success. We're quite pleased anyway. We didn't make any money - but we got enough back to pay for the next one without having to put more money in The venue definately isn't for us though. They were very unprepared, the equipment was shocking, and their attitude was awful. Its a bar - I don't think they were sure what to expect of a Trance night. Sooooo, this weekend, we're looking at a purpose-built nightclub which holds 270 people (ideal for us for starters) which is smack-bang in the heart of Coventry city centre (as apposed to the edge of Coventry city centre at the other venue with no passing trade). The good thing is, we've been told we can have Friday nights, once per month, which is great for us because its the busiest day of the week to have it on. Its also the club that Paul Morrell started his Classique events in (he had his events on SUnday nights). He quickly outgrew the venue and now has the likes of Judge Jules, Richard Durand, Simon Patterson, etc at a bigger venue in town on Saturday nights which holds just short of 500 people. So if he can do it, so can we So, fingers crossed
