Judge Jules Archive 2008 Secret Santa - Members Exclusive Tribute Mix - Mixed by Aza

Mix Philosophy

Another year - another Christmas - another Secret Santa Special Mix...

Through various discussions and posts, these mixes (Freefall and Terminal Velocity) have predominantly had both their tracklistings selected by the members at JudgeJulesArchive.co.uk. The two mixes serve as a dedication to the entire site with the first mix being submitted to the Judge Jules Archive Secret Santa 2008 competition (thank you Jason B and Tom Wake), and the second as an exclusive tribute to all forum members.

Each track from the mix has either its dedication or inspiration acknowledged to its right and as the mix is (hopefully) presented in 'Secret Style', many members may not recall discussing their favourite tracks in previous threads; however, every attempt has been made to cater for everyone's favourite.

The first mix is a gentle warm-up Freefalling its way to some deeper trance, whilst the second mix reaches full flow at 'Terminal Velocity' and integrates some of the greatest tracks from the 1998-2003 era.

Coming to the end of another mix with some wicked tunes in it. OK, so there's a few dropped beats in it, but the transition points are on the money and the flow runs superbly Another enjoyable hour of dancing round the spare room

Is a steal for £ Jason, mate! I think the vocal mix works wonders with the main riff at the kick in point. Think the vocal does it best for me mainly because it is so good to bloody mix! After 8 bars whatever or wherever I am playing I love flicking the bass up to slowly let the track come in more predominatly with "yeah" and then "got for me!"

It was certainly one of the tracks swaying me further into dance music and the drive to mix!

Edit: Just adding this, but how well did this go down [signum] with Eddie Halliwell's set at Ascenion in Manchester for the Essential mix!

I love Signum s what ya got 4 me, that is my all time fave tune, I haven't had a chance to play this mix yet but I will definately as I couldn't have made the tracklisting any better than that! That's truly Fab isn't it!

I've just listened to Matt's mix and there's some memories coming flooding back from it! Haven't heard The Journey in a long time. Spot on mixing, but it seemed a bit distorted to me, but that could just be problems my end. Fantastic stuff :winkthumbsup:
