Briggsy Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 To be honest, I don't think any "proper" clubber can take the Gatecrasher brand seriously any more can they? Their CD's are very predictable, their club in Birmingham is aimed at cheesy music-loving beer boys and is far from anything we'd have expected from the brand ten years ago. Their last two attempts at a festival were an embarrassing disaster, and they can't get a 'proper' Trance line-up organised now - they name a venue, and then change it 'last minute', they waste main DJ's on warm-up slots, and then there's the continual "Yes, Gatecrasher one will be re-built" or "we'll be releasing a DVD in the near future" press statements - yet neither have happened and probably never will. The only 'proper' big Trance brands in England that can be taken seriously now are PaSSion, The Gallery and GoodGreef. Godskitchen are still a trusted brand and are unbeaten at hosting festivals, but their club line-ups and CD's are also very predictable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Max Kane Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 Crasher in Birmingham is simply a money maker, they basically took over The Works & re-did it to aim for the cooler crowd but by & large got the same one. They've done so few dance music nights & when they do it's usually a housey affair, the Morillo night was supposed to be amazing though. I've been there once for a student indie night which was surprisingly good, it wasn't one of the discounted nights with cheap booze so the crowd was pretty cool.
