Neuro
What do people use to clean their vinyl? Fairly basic question I know, but my mate uses just slightly damp vinyl dusters whilst another swears by lighter fluid from the market - a very good antistatic apparently!? On some of my records especially at the beginning the sound quality is deteriorating and there's all sorts of stuff in the grooves (dust, cardboard shavings) which I want to get rid of before it becomes very ingrained... Are there any dont's, eg dont use water etc?? Any stylus brushers/cleaners - what do you recommend? Hope some of you can help.
bigsteve
I just use my sleeve/arm for a quick dust down before every play, but for those that I receive in a s*** condition (usually off EBay ) I use the cleaning spray and a proper wiper (bit like an old blackboard cleaner). However, altho this cleans it well and repairs the grooves, if used too much, it can ruin the record
JasonB
I use lighter fluid myself, cheaper than speacliats claning fluid stuff and does t same job.
Chrissie Brown
If the record is sticky or has food etc stuck to it l always use luke warm water and a sponge making sure l follow the grooves. It always does the job.

Chrissie Brown
When having parties and there's food and drink close by then its inevitable that somebody will spill food or drink all over a pile of records. It does happen.
