Hardaway
With your budget I'd go for a Numark mixer this ones pretty good... even has a few effects to play about with too. http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR147228 Read the write up above... Tremor
I was thinking a Numark would probably sit in the right price range. Not used one for a long time but my first mixer was a 3 channel Numark costing around £200 and it was solid... still got it today and although I've upgraded to a Pioneer I know it still works cos I take it out occasionally. No fancy fx on that one though as it's about 12 years old!
Number2Fan
Go to JB's and try some out. My Gemini has 3 channels but you can hear either one or two at a time in the headphones (with a split button)and the third through the speakers, I beleive my Vestax is the same, how can you play all 3 through the headphones, and why would you? I don't mean that badly I actually am intrigued?

I don't mean that badly I actually am intrigued? You can play 6 things through the headphones on a djm 600, one of those being the effects over everything else, or any of the 4 channels. Why you would want to hear more than one tune at a time, 2 if you're using 3 decks, is quite beyond me too. Its hard to suggest a mixer without knowing what you want it for. simonross46
Gemini PS-626x is what I'm rocking .... cheap and 3 channels, very solid.
Tremor
I should think any DJ mixer above 200 quid would allow you to PFL any of the channels and therefore by pressing all of the PFL (cue) buttons you'll be able to listen to all the channels on your headphones. I'm also not quite sure why you'd need to - I guess maybe for 3 deck mixing but I would think you'd get 2 tunes in the mix and then listen to the 3rd seperately to get that in time. Who knows. Number2Fan
Yeah I can see why you'd want three channels obviously, just unsure why you'd wanna hear three thru the headphones at the same time. Unless you had a 4 channel mixer... altho I realise you do DnB emy, so I'm interested to find out!
emy
Because when I mix I like to hear both at the same time in the headphones, so when I have three decks I just assumed it was normal to do that with three, I have never mixed on three decks before so I don't know, but it would be easier to continue mixing how I am used to I know when I DJ out it is different and you have to adapt to the set up
Quadrant
Carl Cox was the master of 3 decks back in the vinyl days. Unbeatable talent.
JasonB
That numark looks good for the price
Moonman
theres a three channel Vestax PMC 275 (i think) thats really good. Crisp sound quality. I used to have one before i spilt beer over it. I now have a Gemini 626 as it was supposed to be a quic, cheap replacement, but id serisouly go with the Vestax. They use it in the Radio 1 studios aswell, if im not mistaken...

FuzzY-LogiC
Carl Cox was the master of 3 decks back in the vinyl days. Unbeatable talent. oh yeah! Dave Calrke also did the ocasional 3-deck set with lots of funky ghettohouse pumped to the max! That was back in the days when he was really tearing it up 97 style! Number2Fan
Hey that's my Vestax!! My Gemini is a 525 though and I don't think you can get that one now. Citronic do one the same with a USB too.

Number2Fan
Nah Citronic do an equivilent of the Gemini 525 - 626 whatever! Basic, and nice and affordable. Easy to look after too! In case someone spills their champagne in it, as soon as you plug it in!
Moonman
In my opinion, Vestax make some of the best mixers out there for sound quality. Obviously behind the likes of Urei and Allen & Heath....but fr the price you cant go wrong...

Marty Mayes
Go onto ebay and you will get a PIONEER DJM 600 for 250-300
Max Kane
If you want a brand new one I'd recommend a Stanton the SMX-301 is a standout mixer for the money. Pioneer mixers are the benchmark though, they're so much better than anything else out there
Number2Fan
ah no that one is slightly different to my Vestax, plugged it in now after having seen it on the board. That one must be newer, my mixers are old now, but still work and sound great!
Ian_k
guess a mixer is only as good sound wise, as the monitor speakers you use it on........use crap monitors,. any shitty mixer will sound the same.....use expensive monitors your gonna notice the difference :whistling:
emy
Oh I have good monitor speakers
