On the night after we all met up at the Ministry of Sound, I went to this, and as I had been helping out a little with the promoting of the event I was AAA here, so I have some photos I love. :) I will just write a quick report, as I feel I oughta tell you that it was in fact absolutely amazing. I arrived a bit late due to the fact I needed an hours kip at around 5pm, and the venue is in fact over an hour from my house in a normal car, but I was going in my car which is a little old Metro so it took a little longer. So got there went backstage for a peep, bumped into a girl in the loos who started talking to me about Gav and her general day, then I realised she was talking about Gavyn Mytchel so I went upstairs and caught some of his set, all v good, we all know Gav's general standard, I spoke to him and he seems a very nice chap and I got a photo. Then Tall Paul came on, he seemed to be on for hours and every time a blinding tune came on I thought it must be his finale but it just got better and better with each tune, and the sound quality in the venue was awesome, f****** brilliant actually and I was wearing earplugs, Paul did plop the ole Swedish House Maffia tune on and despite ticket sales being too low, the place kicked off, and one thing about the crowd that had come I noticed they were all proper clubbing clubbers, loving the music, and dancing, and friendly, it was a huge dancefloor to fill, and we all had some room to dance which was nice. I noticed the night before at the Ministry there seemed to be a fair amount of space too, especially in the bar, not space I'd seen there before. When Marcel Woods came on he played like a demon, didn't get to speak to him, he didn't seem up for a chat tbh, but everyone enjoyed his set and it was immense. I spoke to some people outside 18 yrs old who'd never been clubbing before, so what a way to start yourselves off on it. I went backstage again for the loo and bumped into Jon O'Bir who is a gorgeous little happy man and got him to have his pic taken with me and he really was lovely. :) Then off to dance some more, and I was on stage when JOB took over from Marcel, the atmosphere was tremendous by this time, after having fire eaters and Angle Grinding dancers on stage the tunes were Superb and getting a reaction from every drop. Really was, unfortunately it was quite late by this time and some people were starting to leave but the hangers on were still having it large, including myself. I have to say the only time I've felt as good as that clubbing before was when I saw Jules/Eddy/PVD at Gatecrasher(1) Sheffield all them years ago. Both easily go down as the best nights out I have ever had. Sadly I had to leave before the very end, but I did see all of Jon O'Birs set and I think I lost a couple of stone dancing to it.
