JasonB
I decided at the begining of the year I'd only be buying mellow/deep house/progressive for DJing and I've stuck to it now with a pretty good collection. I'm not feeling normal house anymore much or even electro house really, trance is still a big love but really the deeper side of house and prog is where it is at for me these days, especially with a lot of the big names jumping onto the new evolution of progressive there's new producers catering for the older sound I love. There's so much good music and new producers and labels that so many people don't support, I've been finding theses beauties via monday and tuesday's trawling through Junos new today listings. I'll stick to 10 but could do a top 20 but won't as I'll be here all day My fave of the year I turned Simcut onto. So for the 10, a few well known names mixed with some lesser known names: 01. Breeze & Quadrat - Sinope (Kay D Remix) (Mistiquemusic) 02. Aural Imbalance - Spaceshell (DJ EFX Remix) (Toto) 03. Maindave - Burga (Mistiquemusic) 04. Pryda - Vega (Pryda) 05. Aleksey Beloozerov - October (Pitch Music) 06. Beat Factory - Roswell (Alterimage) 07. Inertia - Juxtaposition (Republik) 08. Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer - Fracture (David West Remix) (Anjunadeep) 09. Kraftwerk - Aerodynamik (Daniel Mehes Futuristic Remix 2010) 10. Alex Whitcombe & Simon Duffy - Aviation (Steelfish)

Moonman
Briefly off the top of my head...i know by now some of these have crossed over, but i liked em before they did! For the floor; Gramophonedzie "Spend Some Time" (Original Mix) Yolanda B Cool & Dcup "Speaka No Americano" (Original Mix) Chris Lake & Nilski "Minimal Life" (Club Mix) Nalin & Kane "Beachball" (Chris Lake Remix) Cirez D "Bauerpost" (Dub Mix) Ronan Portela "Beat Up Deep Inside" (Joris Voorn Mash) Underworld "Always Love A Film" (DJ Madskillz Remix) Roman Tapia "Combustian" (Club Mix) Lake & Lys "Atari" (Original Mix) Pirupa "Funky" (Original Mix) Cheese factor singalong tune that reminds me of some dodgy Ibiza West End bars (cough Capones ); Flo Rida feat David Guetta "Club Cant Handle Me" (Original Club Mix) DJ of the year, i'd say Chris Lake or 2000 & One. Lake in particular has been so consistent.

Max Kane
I dont think there are 50 tracks I like from 2010 actually, such is the state of Trance (see what I did there?) at the moment. Will write a list soon tho Trance wise (as is probably clear from my list) there is a real dirth of quality right now. It just doesn't excite me anymore (even prog trance). Armin has really, really gone to pot
Simcut
I think Armin's just playing the best of what is about Trance wise, and that's not a lot tbh! :S
Aza
Tend to agree with you guys there, Halliwell's Fire It Up! Radio show has been showcasing some fine beauties for me
Max Kane
Armin seems to be fascinated with Dash Berlin and whoring his own album tracks too much of late. That said he did end last night's ASOT with St Joihn vs Locust 'Mind Circles' so I can't stay mad at him - a seminal track!
Simcut
I completely agree with Jase's #1 track choice of Breeze & Quadrat - Sinope (Kay D Remix) (Mistiquemusic), such a superb track, thanks again Jase for introducing me to it, stunning stuff
JasonB
My pleasure mate. A state of tripe armin wise, never a regular listener but not inclined to tune in or stay listening after Schulz.
Max Kane
A state of tripe armin wise, never a regular listener but not inclined to tune in or stay listening after Schulz. I've really lost interest in Schulz of late, he seems to be playing the same old tracks over & over interspersed with a ton of IDs which don't come out for about a year. Hoping the new Dakota Album will see him back on form - did not rate Do You Dream at all
Gregg
I agree with Simon. I can't actually name a single track off the top of my head from last year. I listened to an Armin set yesterday from Amnesia and apart from that remix of Out of the Blue I didn't recognise anything, but then again nothing really stood out. Can't say I like the remix, just another trance classic butchered with the sound of what passes for trance today. Oh, the track he did with Sophie Ellis Bextor was on it (but I only know that cos she PA'd, and he introduced her and the track! lol)
Max Kane
Blimey 50?? lol I'll be honest - it was tough to get down to fifty!
gamesgaryjp
Trance is shocking the past few years, especially all the shite the dj's are playing, the electro / minimal stuff. Its hideous! I much prefer the uplifting / epic pieces, as these are the closest thing to the trance of yesteryear 1 - Aeden - Reverence (Original Mix) 2 - Krazy Sandi - Insanity (Arctic Moon Remix) 3 - Med Vs. Neil Bamford - Last Stand (Arctic Moon Remix) 4 - Ronny K. Pres. Advanced - Atlantis (Original Mix) 5 - Sophie Sugar - All For You 6 - Suprano - Tranceutopia (Original Mix) 7 - Arctic Moon - True Romance 8 - Ivan Mateluna Feat. Tiff Lacey - Be My Inspiration (SoundLift Remix) 9 - Simon Patterson - Miss You 10 - Suncatcher - First Day (Original Mix) Sadly, in the current trance climate, proper trance tunes are vastly overlooked by all the big names. they are all playing vocal electro which all sounds underproduced and has no feeling or euphoria about them. I spend all my time now hunting down classics from 2001 and before that i may have missed, much more fun than listening to week after week of flooded digital download stores trying to weed out the shite in order to find anything that resembles trance
Max Kane
Dredging this one up from the archives eh mate? My tastest have varied so much this year - I've really gotten into underground techno/tech-house. Hardly any DJs actually playing the kinda stuff I like (which is awesome) and a massive array of producers/labels which I have stumbled upon for which I have seen so little exposure. I'm very much back into my DJing again after falling out of love with it at the beginning of the year
JasonB
I'm so disappointed by all the crap I wade through on juno these days, I too am falling back on older stuff of recent

Max Kane
One thing I have found with smaller/unknown labels and producers is that you have to make sure that the tracks are mastered properly - while this can happen with major labels its much rarer. Have been sent some awesome stuff from producers on soundcloud only to find the mastering is so poor/non-apparent that I can't play the track
