Briggsy
Hi guys, As you may be aware, I retired from DJ'ing last year due to hearing problems - however, due to a DJ pulling out of a recent line-up, I stepped in as a replacement - so I thought i'd record my last ever set for you. I played from 4am til 5am at Beat Logistix in Leighton Buzzard on Saturday, and because it was my last set and at a fairly commercial venue, I dug out a few favourite big tunes from the past few years - and here's the link to my set: http://www.csbdjagency.co.uk/Carl_Briggs_BeatLogistix_February.mp3 Tracklist: David Moleon vs Gat Decor - Passion Jolp (Bryan Kearney's Back At Passion Intro Smash-Up) Daisychain - Mamasei Mauro Picotto - Lizard (Indecent Noise "Spark" Remix) Members Of Mayday - 10 In 1 (Bryan Kearneys Friday Night Upendment) Ratty - Sunrise Odessa Soundfreaks vs CLS - Ready Or Feel It (Bryan Kearney Smash-Up) Paul Webster - Cut Off John Askew vs Faithless - F@cking Insomniac Vandals (Jordan Waeles DJ Tool - Carl Briggs Edit) Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face (Bryan Kearney & Barry Connell Ressential Remix) Underworld - Born Slippy (Karl G Remix) Forgotten - I'll Add This Later Art Of Trance - Madagascar (Richard Durand Remix) Robin S - Show Me Love (Bryan Kearney Remix) Encore: John Askew Vs Joint Operations Centre vs Swedish House Mafia vs Congorock - Onedalism (Bryan Kearney's Straight To Hell SMASH-UP)

Aza
Nice post Carl - good to hear from you matey... This looks a very well thought out and structured set - looking forward to checking this out! Could you post a direct link to download please? Out of interest, how did you do the recording? I've always been met with a slightly raised eyebrow when pitching up my lappy :s Edited March 8, 2011 by Aza
Briggsy
Quadrant - the ears are fairly shot these days. They've deteriorated very rapidly over the last 12-18 months - meaning my ears (mainly my left ear) have become very painful and i've irrepairable damage which means I can't hear the mid-ranges very well now (confirmed by specialist). Beatmatching has become quite a task now rather than a simplicity - taking the enjoyment out of things Jaylo - thanks mate. Yeah very big Kearney fan. Over the last 2 years or so, most Trance DJs and sets have slowed right down to 132-136bpm - whereas Kearney, Askew and and Indecent Noise are about the only ones that continue to defy the current trend and still hammer out fast, ballsy 142bpm productions and sets. Because of the types of venues I play in, I rarely get the chance to play the the Askew sort of stuff because its not too commercial - whereas Kearney does a lot of edits that feature samples from well-known tunes, without them becoming cheesey or losing any of the pace and balls - so those are ideal for the more commercial venues I tend to play in. Aza - cheers mate! I'll stick a direct download link up tonight As for the recording - I take my laptop and stick it out of harms way in the booth where nobody is likely to spill drinks on it or drunken idiots can knock it flying

Max Kane
Shame that you're going out mate, but at least you went out in a blaze of 142bpm glory! As far as bosh monkeys go, you're alright Will have this on during my drive to glamorous Stoke tomorrow

Excuse the not-so-great sound quality - the vibration loosened the cable at some stage during the night, so then it recorded through the external mic - resulting in mono sound and drunken crowd being heard! lol
