Chrissie Brown
Good luck Jaylo, it might also help if you put an advert in the local paper in the "Whats on" section and also some flyers (depending on cost)

If there are any other nights running nearby which may have a similar crowd it'd be a good idea to flyer there too - on the way out of the club so people have something to take home with them that they will remember in the morning
Briggsy
Always worth getting your local radio station onside too. Most of them will gladly give you a shout out if you offer a pair of tickets to give away - particularly if they have a specialist dance music show. I found dishing flyers out flyers in the street and outside clubs to have very little impact to be honest - instead, I used to get a bundle of high-quality colour posters printed and then put them all around Banbury in chip shops, kebab houses, etc. They're the first places people usually go to after a night out. Then I put a bundle of flyers on the counter too so that people could take them away with them. Take aways are usually happy to take flyers and posters because they know that if people go to your event, chances are, those punters will go into their shop afterwards. The more people that go out to your events, the more chance they have of getting customers too - so it works in their interest. People will happily take flyers voluntarily off shop counters, etc - but when you thrust them into their hands, they tend to ignore them out of stubborness. Also, its always worth getting to know promotors of similar events in your area. When Beat Logistix really got going after its 3rd or 4th event, we used to pul in around 100 people from another event called 'Hulla Balloo' - a Hard House and Trance event that was also in Banbury. Most of those used to be the old regulars from a night called 'Essance' - so we pulled in the Trance followers from that. if you stay on the right side of those promotors, they'll help you out - if you piss them off by forcefully flyering outside their door, then they'll do their best to piss you off in return. Locla newspapers, local radio and take aways - they're your friends if you can offer them something in return.

jaylo
Good luck with your night mate, i agree with most people on here...consider getting Lange for 750 for one of your nights and people will flood in, he's also a very humble and nice guy. £400 is cheap where is £750 is quiet a lot of money for 1st gig and when u change £750 into euro its a lot aswell as flights and hotel to dublin

Chrissie Brown
This Saturday we're putting on Michael Woods who ( unless you're a proper clubber ) you wouldn't necessarily know. Luckily he produced the latest number one track by example and we're hoping that will pull em in, we also have a partly outdoor venue this time, so we won't lose half the crowd to smoking, as unfortunately losing the smokers did affect the overall atmosphere at our Marcel Woods/Tall Paul/Jon o'Bir night. Despite all 3 DJ's playing cracking sets. We've aimed smaller now and hope to build a reputation up and up. . Hope it all went well on the night  , His style of music has changed, but am enjoying the new stuff as much as the old and have bought quite a few of his tunes both old and new. Looking forward to seeing him again in Ibiza this year. BTW, where was he playing?

Max Kane
I was really getting into his new sound but the last few of his productions/remixes have been a bit cheesy for me (apart from Fruitcake - which was awesome)
jaylo
Things have taken a big turn now,i was goin ahead with lee haslam, and when i told him i couldnt afford him he sent me big email giving out saying why did i ask for the contract and now i dont want him, I didnt sign any contract YET for genix i had received it alright but changed my mind, he told me to honor it and i have to cancell the other dj. I explained to genix manager my mate who was helping with costs pulled out and i could not afford to pay all costs myself. So here is what genix manager started out at £600 £550 we then agreed £525 + 50% payment up front When i told him couldnt afford it he went £500 Now i got him £450 + £70 booking and rest of payment the week before he plays Big difference from what we started out on But im happy to be getting genix now top quaility productions from him
