Max Kane Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Sara Cox?! Perhaps that is a sure fire sign that we've run out of reasonable DJs to have on and should retire the feature!
milkybarkid Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Sara Cox?! Perhaps that is a sure fire sign that we've run out of reasonable DJs to have on and should retire the feature! This may or not be part of it, but I caught a bit of Radio1 yesterday, and I heard something about Chris Moyles doing some sort of mix with Kissy Sell Out (I think) on his show and definitely heard Jules mentioned in the same section. Maybe that's it.
Max Kane Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I do hope that's the reason - but even if it is it's still shockingly bad. I can understand R1 getting specialist DJs on to mainstream shows (to showcase their stuff to general, commercial listeners and to boost the figures) but getting wanky "how the f*** do I even have a slot on any radio - let alone radio 1", all round slagbag, Sara Cox to "guest" on Jules' show accomplishes nothing. Those listening are not suddenly going to think "oh wow, she likes Daft Punk, now I'll listen to her Saturday show cos she's down with people like me". She chose the most obvious records and essentially wasted 10mins of Jules' show.
Quadrant Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 She chose the most obvious records and essentially wasted 10mins of Jules' show. Agreed. Unfortunately it's all now a countdown til the sad day anyway
