  1. I'll be honest I haven't even listened to the Tong set, it doesn't look appealing, only heard the last part of the final track as I skipped thru to Armin's set

  3. As soon as I get it I'll post it, apparently we're to expect plenty of new Coldharbour tracks & soem exclusives which should be interesting
  4. Very much looking forward to this being released & am curious to see what kind of tracklist he goes for. Hopefully be in the same vein as the exceptional 'Miami 05' & 'Ibiza 06' Few details HERE Will post more when I get em
  5. On occasion it's perfectly fine for the DJ to begin their set with an intro track, I've seen it done many times & it can work, however it's always best to allow the previous DJ to completely finish what they're doing. Let their track play out to a finish or wait until they're done & then slow it down. At the Gods x-mas parties Armin has followed on from Jules a number of times & being as Jules is hammering it out he's allowed Jules' track to completely finish before strting off his own set with an intro track. It worked well in that instance as Armin started off a little deeper & slower than Jules was playing. It also served as a way for the crowd to give a huge cheer to Jules & then the Armin chants started. People at the bar came rushing over & Armin kicked off his set. Personally when playing out I've always mixed in directly from the previous DJs track, I'm no super-star (yet ) so just carried on the flow of things. It's simple enough to change the bpm once you're off & running. DJs following on from me have varied, on each occasion except once they've mixed in from my closing track, the only exception was when I played ES back in April when Jonas did a 'power down' type effect on my last track as he wanted to play a new intro track he'd made especially for opening his sets, nice thing was he even asked me if it was ok! what was I gona say 'no sorry mate, you mix in from my track, who do you think you are' haha
  6. Happy birthday Dormouse, apologies for missing it
  7. Nothin special planned, never really view it as a big occasion. Considering Gods on Saturday, but not 100% sure of my attendance yet
  8. Was bound to happen sooner or later I echo the thoughts above in that I hope he doesn't get too carried away with the accolade, I mean it's not gospel as some DJs & promoters treat it. Big gigs & concerts fair enough (he's already anounced one) but not too many ego-trips

    Beatport

Have sorted it now, just a question of emailing them enough times

    Beatport

How did you sort it mate? I still can't log in & the email they send which supposedly contains the link you need to follow simply re-directs me to the store front again :S

    Beatport

Anyone else having problems with beatport today? Appears that they have reset every single users password as they have upgraded certain servers. Seems a bit of a needless annoyance imo & the fact that resetting your password is not yet available is just stupidity
  12. Any downloads I grab I always make time to comment, good or bad. Only trouble I have is with all the mp3 downloads I have to purchase for my own sets I don't have the disc space to download as many sets anymore without compromising performance
  13. Disc Two owns virtually every other compilation CD ever, every track on there is fantastic. 'Bulgarian' 'Luvstruck' & 'Violin de la Nuit' are my picks from disc one
  14. Definately see what you're saying mate & i think you've hit the nail on the head with the part of your statement about songs being catchy, Pearce's audience lust for cathy throw-away pop dance songs, they don't wana have to pay attention to a record for 10misn they just want a radio edit that they can have on in their car with some drunken scouse bird saying what a great night out she had in Oceana
  15. I think that there are very credible artists that have made cheesy tunes, Kyau vs Albert 'Walk Down' for me was a very cheesy tune, that vocal was pure cheese! I don't discriminate between pidgeonholing things as chees, commercial etc really. I think that DJ Sammy etc is just sh*t, tunes like those don't even come into my thinking when categorising dance music, that stuff is just pop
  16. I'm not personally slating Dave, obviously he won't turn down easy money or a gig where he feels there is a platform for him to play. Fair enough. I'm not a fan purely as i don't see the appeal, I'd rather see a DJ playing records that form some kind of flow & are mixed properly, in saying that I'm not one for the over-doing of 'classics', Pearce seems to play a large majority of his sets with a lot of classics in. Fair enough for people that want that, but personally I think that an older 'anthem' has so much more effect when it's thrown into a set that has some contemporary unknown records in aswell. Classics nights & DJs like Pearce that (for want of a better phrase) 'Anthem bash' do nothing for me, I'd rather hear someone spin some unknown records for an hour building things up nicely then dropping a massive track, the effect (for me at least) is so much better that way. Each to their own & i'd never slate anyone for liking anything (within reason) but it's not my cup of tea as I'm sure the music i play isn't to everyone's taste
  17. It amazes me that, even with the R1 backing, that Dangerous still plays so many gigs. I know that he appeals to, a shall we say, 'different' clubbing (if it can be called that) crowd but surely people that listen to him play must realise he is dodgy. I duno why they don't simply listen to more tasteful DJs & Shows.
  18. Ignoring Dave Pearce for a while, Briggsy mate love the avatar! 8-)
  19. The way he pitches every tune at about 5+ is ridiculous. One of the many reasons he is wrong :?
  20. Some of the stuff that man has enforced onto people's ears over the years is criminal, way too much cheese and i.m.o his mixing is generally always shocking. When i first started out i had a little motto to help me when i got down about messing up a mix it read 'If Dave Pearce can do this so can I' Basically i thought, look if that muppet can get gigs and be paid hundreds for playin cheesy trance over-pitched and poorly selected then there is no reason why i can't
  21. Looks a wicked set, great to Stuart providing a guest mix too. Will hopefully grab it shortly
  22. Looks quality mate, like the forthcoming mixes aswell, some top names in there.
