Empire Of The Sun - Without You (New version) ---------------- simple but brilliant musical sequence, lovely stuff sirs
-
It's an awesome feeling when you finally find a missing piece after so many years!
-
There's nothing Arty & Matt Zo can do about this - Anjunabeats hold the copyright naturally. Does anyone know if they issued any legal proceedings?
-
Driving to Worcester tomorrow in the van, will download this now as new more new audio. Thanks sir
-
Any tracklisting for this?
-
Do you need me to reupload it sirs? When you put it up remember to label jivemaster as the original uploader, not me
-
11. Jody Wisternoff - 'Star Strings' [White label]
Came out on Hed Kandi Records I think, got the mp3 batch
Little TL update for you sirs
-
Can somebody re-upload the clip please? Can't find it anywhere and I remember it being amazing
-
Think I've got the Ferry Corsten set on a PC somewhere (or a HDD). Will have a look...
Cheers
mitchmix99, would love to hear this, did you find it?
-
What's the obsession with WAVs, aside from being gigantic files do they really sound better than a 320k mp3? I guess they should but I've not compared...
-
Awesome, I shall re-download this if it's more complete. Good work lads
-
It probably will showcase a lot of self promotional material[...]
Well, judging from the tracklisting we now have above, you might be onto something there...

2. second question...did all the old classics start out on a keyboard/ midi controller like featured on the cafe del mar video above. In my naivity 20 years ago I assumed most of the sounds that were used came off a looping vinyl (or were ripped off). The old tunes have a warmth and feeling about them you just dont get any more which makes me wonder what level of actual musicality went into them vs the computer trance we often hear on the radio today (this might be a slightly unfair/controversial statement I know).
Olden days it was done by looping tape combined with early drum machines. Buy some late 1980s remixes of some Pet Shop Boys stuff and you'll hear it's definitely manually put together! Before that, go no further than the famous Tom Moulton to see what he used to do for his remixes - http://www.djhistory.com/interviews/tom-moulton
I agree with you buy the way that whilst Technology has given us the ability to engineer great sounds, the quality is unfortunately lacking

You'll find more audio you can shake a stick at on here for classic shows and mixes. Any particular year you recall specifically?
-
Welcome! Hope you enjoy all that there is to offer on here
-
Wonderful sir.
I'm still interested in the process by which this gets released when you're clearly drawing inspiration from an existing track. Does the label know this and if so, what happens? I'm just genuinely fascinated by how it works in the murky world of labels!
-
This is absolutely superb! A great find.
The scene has gone now but what comes across most obviously here is how passionate everyone is about Trance here. Even PvD comes across as overwhelmed by what it is and what it means!
Dr Motte is just a genius.
-
Yeah it's one post but it's nice when people post in the related thread of whatever they have downloaded to contribute to the reminiscing! I love hearing about those people who were there.
-
That's awesome!
I have had similar vinyl-shopping inspirations from 'remembering' tunes a mix I haven't heard in ages.
-
Good work sir, not had a listen though.
We should really archive these mix set tracklistings as people are always asking for them. Admins?
-
Will download this evening sir! And will give feedback.
Always loved the new audio on here by everyone, thank you
-
I preferred the friday night hotmix when it was 25-30 mins. Not enough mastermix time in these later shows.
-
Welcome sir! It's great to keep seeing all these people joining and reminiscing.
The crystal vial track, tell us more info and I'm sure some of us can help track it down for you.
-
Did you manage to get the download working in the end sir?

Agree! Musical folklore and word on messageboards worldwide implores every serious dance music fan to already have this on their shelf. Still play this loads and it has not dated.
I might even say this is where the word "classic" was first coined in terms of that late 90s Trance explosion in the UK.
