  1. Cheers for your feedback guys. Really glad you enjoyed the mix & good to hear the new mashup went down well with you both! I'm focusing on producing my own stuff at the moment so there should be some original tracks popping up in my mixes in the near future. Some might say it's about time!

  3. Here, here! And all this time I thought it was just me!
  4. I bet loads of people will be saying that in 12 months time or so! It's not a bad song really, just that the guy's voice is really weird & grates on me. I don't think I'd fancy hearing a tranced-up version of it though... :ermm:
  5. Cheers for checking out the mix fellas!

  7. Cheers Chrissie & Quadders, glad it does the job!
  8. Both are great mixes mate, enjoyed the NYE mix in particular. Cheers!
  9. Thanks for this one, really looking forward to checking this out. I used to love all the Saturday afternoon/evening live shows that Jules did for R1. The summer seasons used to be full of live broadcasts such as this one - that's one of the things I miss the most now R1 doesn't cover dance music on Saturdays... Cheers again!
  10. Cheers for checking out the mix Aza & your detailed feedback is much appreciated! I really enjoyed putting this mix together as so many memories of people, places, & different times in general came flooding back with each track played. It was also interesting to hear in brief how much my personal taste in trance music varied over the past 10 years. Just a shame I couldn't do a mix of all my favourites - it probably would have taken forever! Great to hear that you enjoyed this little reflection of the decade & thanks again!
  11. Happy Birthday! Keep up the great work here on JJA
  12. Who is Calum Best = Exactly!! The thread title alone seriously made me laugh!
  13. Will give this a listen mate. Nice to see a bootleg by yours truly making it onto your Best of 2009 mix. Cheers!
  14. Nice mix there Mr B. It brings a summery vibe to things which is very much needed at the moment as we get buried under snow!
  15. Cheers for having a listen guys, I hope it does justice to the last decade! I knew exactly what I wanted to play for 3 or 4 of the years without thinking but I ended up having to flick through all my vinyl/CD collection to make a decision for the rest of them. As you can imagine there were so many tunes I would have loved to use but something had to give. I can honestly say it was the most difficult DJ set I've ever had to plan! Cheers again!
  16. Hmm, La Roux or Dexys Midnight Runners? I think the jury's still out for me!
  17. Yeah, I can think of loads of better midnight choices than that one, Hardaway's choice sounds much better  Mind you, I can't stand La Roux in any form so I'm probably a little biased there... I was at a house party & then went round some local bars/clubs with a bunch of mates on NYE. I don't remember exactly what was played at midnight but the bar I was in mostly played Come On Eileen & that kind of typical wedding shizzle!
  18. As we rapidly approach a brand new decade in our lives & shortly leave the 'Noughties' behind, here is my 2000-2009 Mix for you all to check out. This mix features 10 tracks in total, with each one representing a year between 2000-2009. It was extremely difficult to select just one track from each year as there have been so many excellent tunes over the past 10 years. However, I feel that the ones I have selected best represent the type of music I have been enjoying & also have loads of special memories attached to them. Here's the download link & I hope you all enjoy! http://soundcloud.com/mikew/mike-walker-mix-of-the-decade-2000-2009 1 - Joshua Ryan - Pistolwhip [2000] 2 - Green Martian - Industry [2001] 3 - Airwave - Another Dimension [2002] 4 - Electro Headz - No Sleep [2003] 5 - Solid Haze - Ubiquitous [2004] 6 - Kyau vs Albert - Falling Anywhere [2005] 7 - Fabio Stein - Tran 4 [2006] 8 - Marcel Woods - Lemon Tree [2007] 9 - Airwave - Sunshine In Your Heart [2008] 10 - Heatboyer - Happy Ending [2009] All the best for 2010! Mike
  19. Well as it's Christmas time & I'm currently feeling full of seasonal cheer, here are a couple of mashup pressies for you all, courtesy of yours truly... These 2 mashups have been my most successful ones in terms of DJ support & due to popular demand, I thought I'd spread the goodwill & share them with the JJA faithful! MW - Organic Track http://soundcloud.com/mikew/mw-organic-track MW - Wild Piano Shout http://soundcloud.com/mikew/mw-wild-piano-shout Hope you all enjoy the tunage & have a Happy Xmas! Mike (MW)
  20. When I saw Jules play in Ibiza in the summer, he played some D&B in the Eden backroom for the last half hour or so before kicking-out time. Was pretty cool, something a little different & all that... However as I'm used to the 4/4 style of beats, I've no idea how to dance or move to D&B! I'm sure I read somewhere recently that Jules has quite a fondness for D&B but he doesn't get the opportunity to play it out much?

    Michael Owen

Being a Man Utd fan myself, it was great to see Owen bag that hat trick last night. Here's hoping he can keep up that kind of form & also avoid any injuries, etc... I reckon Owen would be of more use in the England squad than Heskey for example. You just feel that Owen is more likely to get that crucial goal when needed. It baffles me how Heskey is always included in the squad when all he seems to do lately is keep Aston Villa's bench warm?
  24. Totally agree there mate, Oliver Lieb's mix was an improvement on the original... Warrior was good but the Warrior/Michael Woods tracks & remixes around 2003-04 are my fondest memories of said producer. Still spin them now when the mood takes me

    World Cup Draw

So after all the hype, the World Cup draw has finally been done & England have been handed a pretty generous looking group to put it mildly... I don't really agree with the system of 'seeding' the big names & putting the teams in different pots for the draw, etc. Looking at each of the groups, it looks like you generally have one big name, one 'not quite as' big name, & the remaining two are there to make up the numbers (bar Brazil's group of course). It seems to me like the draw is set up to avoid any shocks & ensure that the top names will go all the way. I reckon it would have been good to just throw all 32 names into one pot & randomly draw them out one by one? For example, if Brazil, Spain, England & Argentina ended up in the same group then so be it? Now that would be interesting... Just a few thoughts I had on the subject, please feel free to discuss
