  1. I think maybe Jules didn't want the big fan-fare send-off himself. No reason to me thinking that, he just strikes me as a humble kind of guy like that. Did he do anything special for his decade at Radio1 (I wasn't listening at that point)? Even that's a pretty massive achievement on it's own.
  2. That's what saddens me. In the day and age of such over-saturation of music, there still has to be a certain 'sound' before it gets attention. What ever happened to just judging what sounds good and works? At the very least it's something you can use and be proud of mate.
  3. Really like that mate, got a great groove to it, nice and pounding. Say it'd sound brilliant on a big sound system. Hope it does well for you.
  4. Don't have a heart attack lol, l made a mistake, slip of the tongue, will change! l meant to type 2007,oops, sorry about that! Ha ha! No worries! I was thinking that may have been the case. I wonder will Jules get many of his shows to take away as keepsakes when he goes? Or will he want them?
  5. Wait, did you just say you've got all Jules' shows from 97 on mp3 there, Chrissie? Don't make me have a heart attack now!
  6. Nice one Tom, I'll keep an eye on that. I've a couple of your showcases to catch up on, will get listening over the next few days, been mad busy.
  7. I was at that. I still maintain it's the best atmosphere I've ever witnessed at any music gig I've ever seen. Absolute mayhem. At around three in the afternoon too, if I remember right.
  8. By the way, I sent Jules an email to see if he had anything special planned for his farewell on Radio1. He said the last show will feature a retrospective mix featuring a track from each one of his 15 years there, which is a lot better than just bowing out on a normal show as many of us thought he would. I imagine it will be nothing too obscure, I suppose, but it should still be good. He said that's about as far as he's got, planning wise for it.
  9. Love that track mate. Really sounds like a woman to me though??
  10. Ah, I know we all reminisce for Jules time back in the day on Radio1, but the whole station was just so much better back then. I used to really like Moyles at times then, it was as much about the other people on his show, as him, and it was great at times. All preceded by the inimitable Mark and Lard. Geniuses. Complete with their 'Non-Essential Selection' every Friday. The only bit I wasn't fussed on all day was Sara Cox in the mornings, though I think it was a lot to do with Radio1 wanting her to play up to the 'ladette' image that was all the rage at the time.
  11. So, it seems Jordan Suckley is getting a permanent show on Radio 1. Thoughts? At least there will still be a trance dj there once Jules leaves. Jordan Suckley ‏ @jordansuckley Well the BIG news has been released! I now have my own show on BBC Radio 1 for INDJWT Been holding this news down for ages! Exciting times!
  12. Looks an excellent tracklist there, mate well done. Obviously a lot of effort went into it, thanks for sharing it. Have it downloaded and will give it a proper listen when I get the chance.
  13. Dunno if any of you remember this, from around 2003 I think. Absolutely love this.
  14. That's boss, that reply. You just couldn't dislike Jules as a person, no matter what. Wonder does he ever have a look on here. He should be bursting with pride over it. If it was me, I'd never be off!
  15. Here's a preview of his new tune. http://soundcloud.com/judge-jules-1/judge-jules-the-attack
  16. Cheers mate, just seeing this. Yeah not having much joy with it.I'll fire you a pm in the next day or so, if that's ok.
  17. Cheers mate. I'll have another go over the weekend and see how I get on.
  18. All joking aside, wouldn't he be exactly what they're looking for? Slightly on the commercial side so that he's still recognisable to the average 'punter', yet still with some cred in the dance scene as well? You think he would go for it? I think someone like Calvin Harris (although not technically a dj in the proper sense) would be ideal for it, though I think he's been more than uncomplimentary about X Factor and the likes before. It's got Guetta written all over it though, hasn't it? He'll flash up a link for the dj mag poll at the end of every show and top the chart by a clear 17million votes to the second placed dj.
  19. Simon Cowell to launch DJ talent show TV personality and music producer Simon Cowell is launching a new talent competition to find the world's best DJs. Already known to television audiences in Britain and the United States as the acerbic judge on hit talent shows like American Idol, The X Factorand Britain's Got Talent, the 52-year-old is looking to expand his empire. "DJ's are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show," he said in a statement. The new format will be co-produced by SYCO, Cowell's joint venture with Sony Music, and Overbrook Entertainment, a U.S. entertainment company founded by Hollywood star Will Smith. Sony Pictures Television will also be a partner in the venture, which has been in development for more than a year. Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith has been involved for Overbrook. The three parties said they would announce their broadcast partners in Britain and the United States soon. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/9040598/Simon-Cowell-to-launch-DJ-talent-show.html
  20. No mate, just Cdjs and cds/usb I use. I'll have another go today, finding it hard to make the loop point exact and smooth.
  21. Cheers. Have Audacity for recording, never thought of trying to edit stuff with it. Been messing about with it a bit today, not having much success but I'll keep at it.
