  1. Last weekend.

Have to say I had an amazing night, his enjoyment behind the decks was practically contagious. He only played his mind, body, soul jingle once, he did tell us all to put our “hands in the air” but his 2 hour set from 11-1 was great fun. I was dubious about going, but I’m so glad I did. The crowd were loving it, and that’s what you want. It finished at 2 I was in bed with a cup of tea by 3
Anyone else here seen him recently?
I’d be interested in how it went?

The crowd was a whole varieties of ages between 20 and 60 and there was a lot of dancing. Just like the old days.

Highlight for me was hearing Subliminal Cuts - Le voie du soliel and Luvstruck

Id say if you are hoping to hear new tracks, you should go elsewhere, but if you just want an enjoyable, memorable night out dancing then you should try Jules xx

  2. Happy New year, there’s loads of files on here I need to play this year it’s nice to see you’re still here Spin Doctor. Thanks for all your file uploads.

All seems like forever ago now that this was all the latest tunes. Now I listen to radio 6 and on Saturday Rylan on radio 2, and I enjoy it.
    Definitely getting old!

This is the creamfields jules played three sets - radio 1,  cream and passion tent.  Should have been in the passion tent all night it was awesome..

    we’re you here too?

I done all 3 jules sets

    underworld

    paul van dyk

and some that other people wanted to see but I thought was boring at the time. I feel like one was Richie Hawtin…

I also got lost for a while and as I travelled the length of the country on my own to meet everyone it was not fun being lost at Creamfields looking for people I’d literally never seen before.

I do kind of remember meeting some JJ Message Board members that day, but I must admit exactly who escapes me.

I spend most of the event with one of my mates from School (!) and a friend I'd made at the first ever GKGG in 2001.

Very bad to admit forgetting to meet every, and how I'd forget the famous No2 fan I'll never know! ;)

Can you remember who was there?

    Yes I can

    Judgemental

    MichelleThomas

    barnett

    hightower

    ManicMuira (Me of course)

SteMc (who I was still friends with until 2021 when he passed away)

    Billyloner

    Superfunk

JustinCider (also not with us anymore)

    erm possibly more…

You of course briefly and you won’t have met number2fan then coz she didn’t exsist  xx

  5. I will never lose my love for Jules, and respect for what he brought us in the 90s and 00s
I played a GWU just the other day and it was good listening for what I was doing at the time. You know Jules is older, I am older, such is life. I can no longer dance all night long so it would be depressing if Jules were still god like on the decks in a club and I couldn’t participate.

The old radio 1 shows are still so spot on for me tho, nostalgia wise there’s nothing better.
Life has changed alot for me in the last two years, as it has for a lot of people. For me there’s been some life changing events, so I pop back here and it’s nice to see it’s all still going and some of the same faces as were here before. This is still an amazing amazing archive, credit where credit’s due people of the jj archive.

    Happy Place!

    albeit much quieter now

  6. When certain tunes get played out of the blue. And the euphoric recall kicks in. Butterflies in your stomach, hair standing on end. When that happens it’s not always an old favourite, sometimes it’s tunes I weren’t into at all. Do you all get that? I literally just played Toca Me (which I did like back) whilst watching The Chase and was transported in a second 30 years back!
it is the full range of emotions, happiness and fondness tinged with sadness and longing. Weak knees
Like love and heartbreak silmultaneously. It’s great innit  :) (but torture)

what tune does it to you?

  7. Well I’m knocking on the door that says 50 and I’m always happy when I remember I danced through the 70s/80s/90s/00s and I’d still be dancing if I weren’t so disabled these days... having said that I do still dance occasionally but it’s a long time since I went all-night long!!
As much as getting older sucks, if I weren’t old I wouldn’t have enjoyed the 90s the same way as I did!

    I’m cool with that xx

    :)
