I contemplated selling during a very broke period, and although they are hardly used, they take up room, gather dust etc, I am so glad I didn't sell.
-
Honoured? Really? I bloody wouldn't.
-
If you are a reluctant seller, don't sell them.
That is my advise.
You could give them away of course, to me, maybe.
I actually do advise you not to sell if you don't want to though. May I ask why you want to sell up?

Taken from the Judgements FB page, I see that both of our opinions were correct.
Dear Judgement fans
The story behind the Friday move is that I asked the previous owners of the club for the move as long ago as last September. This was because of my legal career. Although I don't start working on Mondays until after this season is over, I wanted the full 2013 season on Fridays with my eye 100% on the ball before 2014, when I'll be working five days a week as a lawyer and therefore less able to concentrate on Ibiza (albeit with a good team to do so on my behalf.) The previous owners had many excuses why we shouldn't move.
I now realise it was because they were trying to sell the venue and didn't want the uncertainty of their biggest night moving putting off the new buyers. In the end, Eden was sold very late in the day, with the final paperwork only being completed a month ago. By this point I'd given up on Fridays and we'd booked 10 consecutive nights with Ferry Corsten on Sundays, plus some others on the different Sunday dates.
Clearly, the issue of Fridays had been mentioned to the new owners by the old ones, as the new owners immediately asked that Full On Ferry and us promote separately, telling us that they'd heard that we were prepared to move to Fridays.
There are big upsides to Fridays:
1. The Ibiza market is now massively dominated by weekend breaks and not full week holidaymakers, making Friday a much better night.
2. There is little competition.
3. I can continue doing it in 2014 and beyond, which I couldn't on Sundays.
The downside is obvious:
We had an extremely short time to get line-ups together.
Having said that, it's given me an opportunity to focus on the newer Djs I really rate in 2013, whose productions I've been playing, the majority of whom I've succeeded in booking for JF. We're going to be charging a hugely reduced €25 entry with cheaper drinks prices, so I'm very confident. Along with a high tech upgrade and renovation of Eden the new owners have put in over one million euros, turning the club into a state of the art super club to compete with the best in Ibiza for 2013.
Cheers,
Jules -
I was surprised to see Kissy Sellout lined-up there.

They knew the day would change quite a while ago. Last summer fosho. Mrs Jules hinted about it when someone posted a photo of their judgements Sunday tattoo. 😳

Grim!
Really?

Maybe there's some underground politics at play?

I dunno if it was really a Gallery tune though.
The Gallery at The Turnmills was some of the best clubbing I've ever had. 😁
-
I quite like the look of that.

Who is Steve Edwards?

Hi Bellos and welcome all new people.
f***ing Deja-vu maaaaaaaaaaaaan!!

Awwwwww hello there, nice of you to join us.
Look forward to hearing any tapes you may bring to the table.

It is a cobbled lane. The other end was closed off especially for this. Normally you can walk through. The roof (marquee style top) was literally above the dj and lights, and not the whole way along.
That's my own video from the cobbles, dunno why it won't post like other YouTube vids. Hey ho?
-
Looks good. Might have to check out the prices, would need ppl to hang out with as I'd prob come on my own.

I have to say his "house" set was again better than this "trance" set. After the absolute tunes that Ali, Claudia and Orjan had just been playing, this trance set was just unstructured and very cheesy. But the atmosphere was good out there.
The so-called house set, was not actually House either. But it was good.

Lovely Chrissie, love the videos.
We must do it all again sometime.
My clubbing love has been rekindled!

Had an absolute pain in the arse trying to get my videos up so make do with what happened there, resorted to youtube and still cant get a nice link to it.

Well I know in the past I said I would no longer pay or travel to see Jules again, as his sets had become perpetually disappointing. So when I saw that Judgements was coming to a town near me I had to attend. Also I saw that Chrissie Brown was going too, and that sealed it for me, as I'm always up for meeting board members if I can.
Despite all the pre-planning for this going very wrong, right up to missing the train station I should have got off at, and having to pay for a taxi there, and then the guestlist f*** up that meant I had to pay £20 to get in aswell (which I could have disputed but the bouncer looked very pissed off, so I just agreed and paid) also my lift home had backed out last minute too. Well, as I say, despite ALL of that I got in there just after 10pm and it was already in full swing in the cobbled alleyway, usually pedestrianised area outside the actual club. Ali Wilson b2b with Lee Osbourne, the crowd was well up for it, the set up of the street part was very good, the lighting was BOSS for an alleyway, and I have to say that although I gave up smoking I do think that the smoking ban has affected clubbing atmospheres and as it was a street party here, the crowd were all able to dance and smoke and mingle with eachother instead of half of them being seperated and the dancefloor half empty. I did have to wash everything when I got home though, stale fag smell EVERYWHERE!! That was ok though as I had had to disinfect my feet and shoes as someones vomit had splashed up my ankles from the cobbles as he ran past me trying to hold it in. :ill:
So, TUNES were good, and then Claudia Cazacau was up and even more banging trance and I was impressed, a remix of Luvstruck thrown in, not as good as the original but I imagine if I wasn't an old hand it would be just as amazing. Had my earplugs in and the sounds were tremendous. I popped to the loo, and the speaker outside the toilet shook every part of my body, parts I didn't even realise could move, I'm talking internal organs, the lot. My hair vibrated.
Jules was on inside the club, when I came out the loo, and the loos weren't that disgusting, and extra portaloos were provided outside too, which also were clean, totes tremendous. I stayed for Jules' ("house") set, and he rocked the place, it was rammed and it was warm and it was cosy, everybody was dancing, there were people of every age there, older than me and younger than me and in equal measures I'd say.
Alot of the youngsters were on MDMA but so what, it meant the queue for the bar was non-exsistent, and I have always said I'd rather be in a room full of people on E than a room full of drunks. And I was.
About ten minutes in I heard that fateful sound of " SOMEBODY MAKE SOME f****** NOISE " and rolled my eyes as I had forgotten about them until them, but.......but he only played two jingles in the set, and the set was great, I believe leaving radio one and Tristan being abroad now has done Jules' DJing the world of good, if Saturday night is a true reflection of how it is now. Because also when he then went on to play after Orjan Nilson outside I still only heard a further two, maybe three jingles, he was very animated behind the decks, the mixing was good, nothing too impressive, bit of looping and arsing about but if he hadn't it wouldn't have been Julesy. As I danced I watched a lad run straight into a glass door in front of me, which was pretty funny, but I think it must have really hurt. Poor lad. My friend got him some help after we realised he couldn't see or walk. LOL :wall: Doubt he remembers why his nose is broken now.
Well sadly the thought of not being able to get home had kicked in, in my youth I would have hung aroung til 7am for the early train, but was fifty quid down from getting there and in, and decided to text my other half with a pleading text to collect me when Jules' set had finished. And he did. Coz he's a good boy really.
Can't comment on any further DJ sets after 2.30 plus those of you that know me, know I have a ongoing feet injuries that are in recovery and I also have tinnitus so going early didn't worry me, but I ended on a high as I can honestly say my faith in Julesy has been restored to its former glory.
I still probably wouldn't go far to see him, but if he comes local again, I'll definitely be in the queue. Preferably the free one. :whistling:
I still love dancing to loud music with likeminded people.
If any admin know how to turn that pic the right way round please do. LOL -
Oh yeah. Weird. 😊

Was it really better back then or are we all just getting old and that?

Yes it was really better back then. I'm not just talking about trance's golden era either. It was amazing from the start right up until quite recently and the avent of MP3's and non smoking venues. IMO. plus the marauding general population muscling in after laws and this brought our amazing dance culture into the mainstream spotlight.
I've been clubbing a long long time, obvs not so much now, but I have been dancing to specifically made dance music from rave times up until now. There is good tunes around and there are still some very skilled musicians, producers and DJ's but there is also alot more dross, alot more hangers on. Alot more alcohol which if you ask me has also had a massive effect on clubbing.
If only I'd known it wouldn't last forever.
Today is the anniversary of my all time favourite DJ passing away. I am listening to his essential mix from 1995, still sounding as amazing as it did back then. Would a set from this year still stand out and be making me wanna dance in 20 yrs? I dont think so, we shall have to wait and see. I can hear the vinyl crackle and I can hear his every move on the mixer and feel like I'm there and it has a more personal feel.
