  1. 1) Jules is the only person who appears to have ever played this track.

    2) In nearly 10 years, not one person has either identified or confirmed responsibility for creating it - be it fellow DJ, producer, or outside individual.

    3) Jules's own answer about it in an email to gaz2195 (posted on this board here is: "I know it samples Ry Cooder". This is either an astonishingly good bit of ID'ing, or because he knew it in the first palce because he made the track.

    4) Moonman identifies on this board here that the Ry Cooder track it samples is called: "Paris, Texas".

    5) The year before, we see Jules selected "Ry Cooder - Paris, Texas" as his opening track for a mix tape for Muzik mag - the scanned image is in our gallery archive here.

Smooth bit of detective work there Neuro, however it's all merely circumstantial, and we still don't have a motive as to why he would say Col Hamilton played it? Surely if Jules had made the tune, he would have said something by now?? Someone may have made the track sampling Ry Cooder - paris Texas after they read it in Jules' 'do us a tape ' article as they wanted Jules to play it, much as people make tunes (bootlegs/remixes) now using tunes they think JULES will wanna try out and play. Personally I think Jules did play it, and not Col Hamilton...but I think you are right in that, Jules could perhaps say something on the whole matter, is he fully aware of the debate and daily turmoil his fans and other music lovers are in because of it!!?

    Go For It Tim!!

Btw aswell, I doubt it's Westbam, as has been suggested earlier in this thread. I've not heard Westbam make any tunes like this one.

If I am now proved wrong by the correct identity of this track, that will be a good thing! :)

  2. This is a f**king wicked MIX!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it, love that mix of Da hool's love parade!!! I WANT THAT ONE! Is it mixed with RIP GROOVE - Doube 99? anyway... and the rest!!! Just wondering why my WMP keeps saying DJ Lottie as well as JJ!!??

I recommend this download to everyone, Jules just as he was starting to get good, unfortunately he does attempt a touch of scratching, but that's just Jules innit!

That Lucid tune WELL takes me back, awesome stuff.

MY GOD! Even taking a scratched tune in his stride!!

This was actually the month my eldest daughter was born so I was unable to go clubbing at this time at all, but I was using Jules to stay in touch with the tunes, on many a sleepless night!! Cafe del mar on my headphones on the way to work, I remember being so impressed with it!! :) ......totally euphoric first time I'd heard a tune that made me feel that way!!

    Times gone by now! ^_^

  3. I dunno, is that a new thing to me or not, I just go thru JJ audio looking for dates I'll like.

Sometimes I think it must be nice to be thick but then I realise i am and it's only nice if you don't know how thick you are!!! <_<

This is a particularly good one though isn't it. This was the time I was begging people to come out and see Jules with me.

  4. I think Carl Cox was the only person on earth to see in the millenium twice if I rem right. Oz was 1st place to celebrate it, then he flew somewhere else to ring it in again. Dont rem where tho. Yeah mines was pretty good too, but by damp squib, i mean clubs charging £50 to get in, and everyone having house partys. (The Millenium Dome was a big flop if I remember right). No complete meltdown of all things electric was nice aswell!!

Hmmm the pilot must've seen it twice aswell then, unless Carl Cox IS a pilot? ;)
