  1. Mixmag used to print essential Mix tracklists as tape inlays and then frequently Jules or Tong tracklistings on the next page, the top half is missing as I used to cut out the inlays for the Essential Mixes I had recorded. It looks like two of which inlays I had binned somewhere, which in this case is Air part 1 and part 2 (they misunderstood so did a 4 hour mix which got split over two weeks).

So this is what I have (the cut out bit is the inlay for Tong live at The Tunnel Glasgow 21st March essential Mix):

  2. You need to buy Jan 98 issue or even december 97 issue for earlier tracklistings as those are the only ones I don't have (so from when Jules firts r1 show started in october up to November 16th show of which listings could be in one issue or spread across two.)

Buying any other issues in 98 is pointless as I have these pages and have contriubted them to this site already.

  3. No malice intended, I would suggest not posting links to tracks to download directly though, as much as I doubt Quake would care about it these days!

For me the vocals never fitted this track, so it was annoying the vocal version came out on the Essential vinyl release.

When made aware a year or two ago I bought the Pioneer Underground or club beats comp that had the instrumental on it, I guess this is the one you have?

  4. Theres a seperate topic about the infamous unknown last track somewhere else on this forum.

But to answer your question, yes, Jules has been emailed multiple times. He has claimed not to know anything about it and to not have played it, saying Col Hamilton did instead. Funny he recognised the guitar riff as to be from a Ry Cooder song though.

Col Hamilton denies playing the track also. Emails to various producers has led nowhere. One said the guitar riff was done using a synth, he named the actuall synth used as he is familair with the sound of it.

All roads lead to it being a unreleased Jules track, although if it is he'll never admit to it. Otherwise no one knows who actually made it.
