Therez a few Closet Recordings tracks available on audiojelly

I'd just about turned 14 when I started listening to Jules and buying vinyl, what great times they were , how things have changed.
Listening to the show now and as for the current rubbish 1st hour, I'm actually enjoying it, even the Ellie Goudling remix fitted ok, much better selection of tracks than at othere times, even if most of them are on Armada labels
Second hour well..... memories of how I walked to school back while it was still a bit dark in the morning n 98 listening to Ayla on my walkman (which I still own, it packed up playing tapes a few weeks back though the radio bit still works fine)(which I'd recorded from vinyl).
As much as I'd loved to have spent my teenage years in the 70's due to my love of Disco, I feel priveliged in a way to have grownup during the Jules era of Radio 1.

Also did the version of Funky Groove played here ever come out? always preferred this version!
-
He is in his 50's
-
Fab & Grooves final show was also a pre-record too, as much as I will miss Jules on R1 I will also miss these guys, they play some stuff no on else on major radio (I'm counting Baileys 1Xtra show and Hypes Kiss Fm) plus their banter is rib ticklingly amusing at the best of times, DJ friction no matter how good he is cannot replace this dynamic duno.

It's something, better than nothing, so although it should be obvious choices, will be looking forward to it.
-
All I can remember was a Jules diary report which mentioned (without actually naming Oakie) a DJ in ibiza during a liv essential mix mad a proper mess of it.
-
And his next (pre-recorded) co host before he leaves is with Oakie again.
-
I agree Grimshaw is rubbish, it seems R1 are raiding Channel 4!
-
Some good news that is, meanwhile Dance Anthems returns with new young un Danny Howard presenting from 4-7pm on a saturday
-
Sad to see fab & groove go, they are hilarious with their between music banter, I think I'll stop listening when Friction takes over.
Trance is hardly the flavour right now whereas dubstep seems to be so not surprise to see Jules go but 2 hours of dubstep after Tong? okay.....,
Never quite understood how Kissy got his own stand alone show
-
I'm really looking froward to Craigs re-creation f this track too

it was A To Z by artist, so that's what I'll do this new one by, need to have a think
-
Some years back in 2003 I actually did a A to Z mix, yep a one take all in 80 minutes using vinyl, I'm not sure if I still have it anywhere
-
I have finally after 13 years gold hold of something that in decent nick is quite rare and usually pricey for a bargain price! it's a bootleg called Brown Acid, samples Born Slippy, Pink Floyd and Woodstock announcements, it was played by both Tong and Oakie during their Creamfields 98 sets.
I will rip it to CD and then rarelyplay the vinyl but never shall I sell it.
-
I agree in one way especially when there's not many copies of something/limited pressings and certain tracks have not been made avilable oustide of this and when you finally back a copy it feels special.
On the other hand it's great when rare as hell tracks that cost silly money to obtain finally become available cheaply.

Tong played this aswell, does this sample The Bucketheads? or was that another bootleg?
