lol, Chewy sounds good I'm not trying to imply that you resemble Chewbacca in any way
And yes, Lava, Kick Drum Domination, and Free To Ride are all brilliant tunes
Should also give 'Flat 6 - It's Too Late' a mention, awesome track
Oh by the way, I've just looked and I have all 2 hours of this show on tape, will record it at some point :-)

Ha Ha Ha ...had a LOL moment....'chewy'....love it!!!!
Yeah, on the whole I love this/these mixes - if only 'cos I've heard them loads. Don't know if the intro's by Jules were left in, they're probably the reason this tape survived. Used to think he sounded 'funny' - (to my niece and myself (acting my shoe size) ; perhaps the tapes ran faster in the car ) .
Love Lava's autumn then the way Kick Drum Domination (awesome title) mixes with Free to Ride.
-
Yeah..'twas an 'eh?' moment when Jules read the 'track listing' out, even though forewarned. As usual for my taste this set gets progressively better, particularly with Tillman & Ries, Burgy then York. A few more listens and am sure will appreciate the lesser known (to me) tracks. As I've said before, I initially omitted tracks that didn't give the feel that I'd get into them...like everybody else....so it's great to have the opportunity to listen in entirety!
-
Yes...very interesting. Took a niece and her mate to ours in Leeds. Decided to go by train 'cos thought roads/parking 'd be horrendous. Mistake. What was horrendous was on the way back, the overnight stay at the train station due to no trains. 'Twas packed. But it didn't mar the experience we had.
Good times.....

Am in agreement with Quadrant.
But I'm starting to see a pattern with these mixes I'm revisiting as in I'm finding that the first track is generally my least fave of the bunch then from then on the sesh's build- and quite often into something awesome. Not something I'd been aware of as when I first listened/taped the mixes I'd leave an awful lot of stuff out after discerning what to dump down ....so many thanx...
-
A right nostalgiafest.....love it. Although not too familiar with the first track no doubt will end up being car-karioki(however that's spelt.)
Classics by signum and X-Cabs. Infact didn't even realise it was the X-Cabs, it was just one of those tunes I liked and taped in the days before I left credits on.

That was a Great Mix From Sonique. Really Loved it  Thanks Chewbains Your a Star
Aawww...cheers. I just love this sesh, glad you do too.
-
HA HA! Class reaction by Brian when Nicki surgested Nadias moods could be down to her period!
-
Cheers, ssooo glad to be able to contribute something. I find this/these mixes work well when I'm coming home from work late in the car, roads dark and empty...
-
I'd like Slick to win but he wont. Yeah, he's not doing much. I don't think any of them are in comparison to when they first graced the house (although as I've stated before I didn't see the first two series.) And they are all older, for example, I wouldn't expect Nickie to have one of her infamous hissy-fits now...as she said herself, she doesn't like that 'little girl' persona.
They're only here for a coulpe of weeks...think it's more of a showcase....
-
Am so happy this is here 'cos I just love it. Perhaps the freestyle 'Put a Spell on You' might get getting used to but I've listended to it from when it was broadcast. I think a 'sanitised' version may be available on CD, but this is raw, complete with feedback and a Jules name check. Gives it an edge like playing vinyl rather than CD.
Haven't located the time it was recorded and most things seem to intimate it was on Tong's show but ,unless my ears are mistaken that's Jules voice, ( which fits in with my time line.)
So here's homage to a brave lady who earlier this year beat breast cancer.
Enjoy.

Would you recommend for other people to give a listen to? can be any genre any style!
Heres mine: http://www.djdownload.com/mp3-detail/Breeze++Quadrat/Sinope/Mistiquemusic/1088397
Guess I shouldn't have stopped listening....
-
Any genre? As I haven't really listened to any current music I'll be a cheecky bugger and surgest something from ...history-ha ha!(joke)
When talking to budding musicians I usually recommend Pil' s 'Ease' off their 'Album'/Compact Disc' (sic). For me an amazing array of sounds, each instrument has it's own voice, the spaces between the notes as valuble as the tune it'self. I believe -though I may be wrong, that Lydon had enlisted top musicians for this album eg Ginger Baker for drums. (yeah - I'm a fogie). Glad it wasn't a single so still remains underplayed and precious.
Soz if this aint what you meant or if I've rambled ...
-
woop woop... Slick's back!....wont win ofcourse, think your choice, Number 2 fan will go all the way. Ulrika's playing a crafty game plan -she gave a quick smirk upon Josie's departure then turned on the tears, then all this bollocks of "no show without Josie".
Like the cameo appearences of past HM.
-
I will enjoy watching this last utimate one tho...
BRIAN TO WIN!!!! (I expect it'll be Josie tho)
:shifty:
Only picked up with BB from series 3, so don't know the characters of Nick or Brian. As I favoured the 'jungle cats' am not keen on Nadia either. Be interesting to see how Chantelle and Preston get on as there seems to be 'something' between them. Don't think there's enough time for Makosi to get into action....so, I think you're right, it'll probably be Josie...(pmsl if it's John mc!!!)

Who are ya... Who are Ya? No seriously Chewabins, who are ya? Never heard of Derby County. Used to play a lot of football. Watched it for a bit when I was younger. But obviously not as good as being on the field playing, so lost interest. You seem to have been into everything in your younger days, and probably still are! The punk era was before my time. But I.ve seen footage of those days. Certainly no girls who were punks carried handbag's. Plenty of zipps and pockets. Don't think it would have been my thing though. Seemed to be a lot of spitting, and moshing. I like a bit of space when I'm dancing. Don't like being crowded at all. Futurists! Don't know anything about them. Were they the new romantics? Have seen footage of guys with black nail varnish and lipstick, and slightly unusual haircuts Goths? Never saw anything of them. Though in the City Centre in a certain area young teenagers gather in groups on certain days, mostly Saturday's. They are mostly Goths. Just there to meet up and socialize. So you've danced through the decades, and been through a few changes of style. Including a Cowboy! Yeha! Move them out! You said you didn't bother with make up touch up, and by the end of the night looked like the Bride of Frankenstein, but you were there to dance not pull. When I go out Clubbing I go out to dance and get high on the music. But I always try to look my best just in case I run into a really beautiful girl. Though if the tunes are good I dance hard. I either end up with my T Shirt drenched in sweat, or soaked down the front. I.ve been told by a few friends, and my Sister, that no girl would ever want to speak to me in that state. But I dance how I dance. Not crazy. But the music has power and energy, so I dance with power and energy. The girls seem to like it, and luckily they don't seem to be bothered by the sweat lashing of me. We haven't talked that much, think you're more into the music aspect of the site. But I think I get your vibe. Is good. You're well up for a laugh and have gone for it in life, and still are. Not working today, thank God. Am tired as hell. To many late night's. Maybe to tired to have much banter in me. Leonard
Nah... not 'into everything'. Experienced different scenes as an evolvement with the music through time-not a throw away identity of being something one week then sommert else the next. Many of my contemparies stopped at a certain point ie when they 'settled down'. My life-style choice didn't include that and I ended up clubing late '90's at Progress, Gatecrasher, Passion, the Bomb....So yeah, initially I'm on this site for the music aspect to ID top tunes on my tapes and as it happens being able to download stuff. Great.(have also uploaded stuff awaiting approval)
Stopped listening to Jules 'round '06 so have no idea of the music scene since then.
oh...and yeah - new romanitcs / futurists were virtually the same thing.
-
Nay..I watch the main highlight show every night, sometimes a bit of the live feed but by that time it's early hours of the morn. (I work late shift.). I meant I only watch BBLB on friday. Don't watch daytime TV -so Sunday's out and I'm off to work when the weekday show comes on.
And 'the Rams'....you'll get any footie minded member pssng themselves chanting at me "who are ya...who are ya?"! We are Derby County who did make a sneak appearance back into the prem...(the year AFTER I stopped stewarding for them...it's all in the timing -not!)
-
Not going to defend nor justify...each to their own....
-
Ace ....nice how you've added Goldrush. Can't say I know the first track but it blends well into Pistol Whip....love the way this mix evolved...yes.. yes... yes!
-
Yeah....come to think of it, I vaguely remember the (KLF)CD cover having some sort of peasant imagery on it..(but that's nearly 20 yrs ago- yikes!)...even so, that's very clever stuff.
-
Lord no...no offence. That's the thing with non-verbal communication nuances can be lost. I like a laugh and don't take myself too seriously -hence my avatar, whilst my profile pic shows I'm serious about the music.
Last year I favoured Marcus inspite of his Noreen(can't remember the Irish spelling) fixation. I followed him for a bit on Twitter- but I can't be doing with that-Twitter that is.This year 'cos I identify most with Josie the most (being a "fat mare" who takes the piss out of herself) I favour her the most. I liked Ben 'cos I liked to hear his use of vocabulary, especially when defending himself....loved the 'Thatcher hair' joke.
Be interesting to see who they're bringing back next week!
-
Very enjoyable little download -'specially when I check who did what somehow gives the tracks more credence. Anyhow first track I find that vocal a little creepy...bit reminiscent of KLF's 'Chillout'. But Push and Agnelli&Nelson, always (sycophant!). Hypnobounce not a fave but exonerated by that 'bass' coming in..(oh dear starting to sound a bit old rock-chick-ish)

Loved this mix until Modem's Contact, 'fraid early morning alarm sounds coupled with Darlek groans (was gonna put something a bit more graphic but had second thoughts) don't float my boat; although it did pick up with Yomanda at the end.
Will give it more of a listen.....
