    10. Cevin Fisher - 'Burning Up' [Wonderboy]

I can't believe I'd forgotten what a huge tune this was.  Going to have to rip the vinyl later.  If you wish to be fastidious on the TL I'd change this to:

    10. Cevin Fisher feat. Loleatta Holloway – 'Burning Up' (Queen St. Orchestra Vocal Mix) [Wonderboy]

I thought it was ok but I went for the free plan then I moved over to record box 5 as I have a serial number, 6 is still very buggy it does not synchronise tracks correctly and even if you are beatmatching by ear and do it with the speed pitch control it still does not work correctly.

I'm going to hang back using it for a while until they fix all the bugs in it.

Interesting.  I have Tractor in DVS setup.  It's woefully under supported now by NI and I was thinking of switching to recordbox but they introduced subscriptions.  I can't quite bring myself to go down this route until I am completely forced to as it seems far to exploitative. I think Serato will be my next move.

It seems you may have recorded the B-Side before the A-Side!

According to Discogs (link), it is also one of the CJ recorded live bootlegs, of which I have a few CDs.

I am sure Fuzzy will get this input to the archive proper when he gets chance.

Edit: Great mix this! Gotta love pre-trance explosion house Jules.  In fact, noting the time on this as 1998 it is quite an interesting recording as it has a very pre-Jules 'golden-era' house vibe but 1998 is when we see Jules, Tong, Tall Paul and Co really start to pick up and support the main room Trance sound.

  5. I've listened to this set countless times in the last 20 years - live, on tape, a rubbish Soulseek rip and this one too - and to echo Fuzzy's comments above, it has to be one of my favorite Jules' recordings.

The energy and atmosphere crammed into this set are superb as is the tune selection.  The mix between Patrick F and Joshua Ryan remains outstanding and a superb example to anyone why key mixing is an important skill.  It's also apparent just how good the Angelic releases were as commercial recordings; just enough commercially acceptable elements to attract wide interest with enough dance floor and underground appeal not to alienate the committed or sound out of place.

    Great set.

There are quite a few cuts in this recording, and I'm honestly not sure that track 12 is from the show... it might be something that was on the tape when this was recorded.

Maybe Neuro can shed some light on this... i reckon this was your own recording that was once lost... am I right Tim?

Just listened to this again as I am really enjoying Jules sound from 1997 at present.

The original recording is an MP3 rip of a CD of Jules' first show Tim posted to me while I was at university.  I noticed back in 2015 that it wasn't in the archive so I uploaded it to your FTP along with a load of other audio.  The rip I made was a direct from CD with no edits, so what you got was exactly what was sent to me.

Didn't know that Tim had lost this otherwise I would have uploaded it much earlier.

  7. After listening to this several times over the last week, I really rate this as a top quality Jules recording.

Firstly, it's longer than two hours, which was the de facto default because of club booking schedules and radio programming.  Secondly, it's got a seductive blend of proto-trance, house, tech and hard house which Jules would become renowned for in later years.

  8. This was part of of a back to back with John Digweed, who's set is pretty good too.  Tracklist for the second half if anyone is interested.  Should be quite easy to find online, noting that just the Jules half is in the archive.

    John Digweed
    01. Ocean Wave - Velvet
    02. Dolls Head - It's Over, It's Under (Brothers In Rhythm Club Mix)
    03. Slacker - Psychout
    04. Sasha - Rabbitweed
    05. Paul van Dyk - Avenue
    06. Amoeba Assassin - Rollercoaster (Oakeys Courtyard Mix)
    07. Pablo Gargano - Farringdon
    08. Mirage - Syrus
    09. Return Of The Native - The Lost Tale
