    JJA friends,

brilliant work! Thank you for putting missing TLs together and posting them!

JasonB: However, TL from Jan 16th 1998 is not the one as you have exposed. It is tracklist from Dec 19th 1997. I know that for sure since I have a piece of this December show on a tape cassette, hopefully soon in mp3 ready to be exposed on JJA. So if this TL is labeled as the one from Jan 16th it must have been a mistake from the Mixmag editors. It's a pity, because I am desperately seeking for this particular edition of Julesy´s show (Jan 16th) since I have a piece of the show on a tape cassette, that could have been from this date but without TL I cannot check the date precisely.

    check Dec 19th TL: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/page/index.html/_/1992-2013/1997/1997-12-19-r201

  2. Thank you FuzzY-LogiC again for the upload. As my other sounds from KISS 100 FM from Nov. 96 this one was also recorded between 9th and 15th, however, does anybody from JJA community could remember when Chicane with Offshore reached the N.1 in Club Chart to help ID the exact date?

my personal faves here: My Love Is Deep, People Hold On, I Got A Feeling and epic Interspace!

Jason, thanks for ID the K Klass´ mix

  5. Just updated the audio with the newest version (now complete with both intro and outro!) and corrected TL courtesy of DJTomasB!

Dear FuzzY-LogiC, thank you for posting this version of Jugde´s EM. I hope JJA community members will bear the wobbling quality of this mix. It has been put together from several different cassette tapes, some of them I was playing to death back in the day.

    Several more comments about TL:

    n. 01: Amos & Martin Luther King - Let Love Shine/I Have A Dream - it is a great mystery for me. No records about bootleg version(s) on the web. Amos released his "Let Love Shine" in 1995 and this Judge´s Essential Mix version is similar to Cleveland City Dub but not identical. If Julesy had used this Cleveland City Dub version he would have edited it or used at least 2 same vinyls to get rid of some vocals which are in Cleveland City Dub version. In the the Essential Mix they are missing, though. Only Mr. Jules knows what it had been if he could remember it after such immense portion of time.

    n. 29: Nookie aka Cloud Nine - Warriors Revenge [Acetate] could be either track n. 29 or n. 31. unfortunately, I could have not checked this tune elsewhere, however, Nookie with Warriors Revenge is mentioned in original TL.

    n. 30: JJA member - 'SEARCHY' says that it is: Erykah Badu - On & On [West Coast D & B Mix] (White Label/Universal Records) I could have not checked this remix elsewhere.

    n. 32: Nookie & Larry Heard - Paradise [Mix??] (SMEJ Associated Records) (it is NOT THE DUB, there is VOCAL in it) again, JJA member - 'SEARCHY' put on the web the Dub version, as he wrote, he had this amazing tune on the vinyl, you could ask him about the right version if you keep in touch.

+ some more tracks I was not able to check the right mixes

the info about n. 30 and n. 32 I luckily found thanks to - 1997-02-xx - Kiss 100FM - Judge Jules, with guest Allister Whitehead AUDIO DISCUSSION THREAD

  7. JJA fellas,

no matter this is only an excerpt, a quality selection of tunes. Such melodies are just why I was listening Jules back in the day.
When Sting with The Police comes in I am having goosebumps. Top choon! And awesome Diamonds Are Forever it is Mr. Bond´s tuxedo styler!

In my humble opinion, Marcus from Nottingham might have been Marcus James, once Renaissance Resident DJ who entered the super club scene after he had been discovered in Bedroom Bedlam competition.
Correct me, if I am wrong! Nonetheless, brilliant Renaissance tunes that Jules picked up for edited version from his Bedroom Bedlam mix.

Anyway, it took some time but there are my foundings and the TL corrections. All tracks and mixes IDed except n. 19. It could be Dirty Trance by DJ Maddog, released, however, in some 2000s.

    19. Unknown - 'Vine Of Soul' [White Label] (Dirty Trance by DJ Maddog)
    20. Sting & The Police - 'Walking On The Moon' (Roger Sanchez EVA Mix) [AM:PM]
    21. Blue Train - 'Get Movin' (JohNick Trumpet Mix) [MAW Records]
    22. David Arnold - 'Diamonds Are Forever' (Trailermen Club Vocal) [East West]

Bedroom Bedlam - Marcus (James) from Nothingham

    23. Freefall - 'Shrug' [stress Records]
    24. Human Movement - 'Traveller's Theme' [Whoop! Records]

    Jules continues

    25. Hypertrophy - 'Beautiful Day' (Tank Remix) [DOS Or Die]

  8. I remember the "Jules' Alternative" feature, which was binned in about 1998 I think.

But I loved it because he would play Drum n Bass and other random tunes that weren't House or Trance. And I liked that.

Knighted Medieval Warrior: You are right I also loved Julesy´s so called "alternative" sections with drum´n´ bass, downtempo etc. in his shows. He had featured similar stuff back on Kiss 100 FM during his "Anything Goes Sessions. It is obvious that Jules brought this concept also to his BBC Radio One slot(s) as his alternative sections is featured in above mentioned show from early November. However it disappeared shortly after he had arrived to BBC Radio One. I was not aware if it was due to shorter slots on Radio One (2 hrs on Friday and the same length on Saturday) than he had broadcast on KISS 100 FM or there had been a different reason.

Such alternative sections were, I believe, much appreciated by the radio listeners.

Nevertheless, Jugde´s selection of tunes from mid and late 1990s is still, after years, absolutelly stunning!

  9. Dear Gents,

superb, I wanted to mention that original audio exposed on JJA as one studio session 1997-11-21-judge-jules-studio-session included two sessions, though. Great you have done it and separated those two sessions from Friday 11th and Saturday 12th!

One of my old tape cassettes includes a piece of the show from Nov 11. I am so happy there are more bits and pieces of it!

There´s my personal recording: Btw: Bombay, Soir La Nuit, Blue Fear - ROCK!!

    26. Somore - 'I Refuse To Beleive' [XL]
    27. Christopher Just - 'I'm A Disco Dancer' [slut Trax/XL]
    28. Kinky Toys - 'Carpe Diem' [Natural]

    34. Morel Davis - 'All You Boys' [Manifesto]

  10. Moreover, there is updated TL. In the first section (Club Chart) Robert Owens - I'll Be Your Friend [Dekkard's Satellite Vocal] (Perfecto) CLUB CHART number 3 is missing between tracks n.4 and n.5

  11. I guess this show was broadcast in mid or late February in 1997. In the advertisment section the release of Fantazia´s The House Collection Volume 5 double album mixed by Allister Whitehead and Tall Paul is mentioned. It was released some time between February 24 and March 1 in 1997

To prove this, in other advertisment sections there are invitations for some events taking place in March and April as well.

  12. Very emotional set from Judge, especially with the crowd voiceover. I remeber listening and recording the very end of this show, below, in London from BBC Radio One back in the day.

    These three are timeless!

    Lucid - 'I Can't Help Myself' [Delirious]

Limited Growth - 'No Fate' (Santini & Stephenson Mix) [bonzai Trance Progressive / Suck Me Plasma]

Energy 52 - 'Cafe Del Mar' (Three 'n One Mix) [Hooj Choons]

I like Julesy´s "scratching" in Lucid, too!

  13. 001 Jayn Hanna - 'Lost without You' (Evolution's Main Mix) [VC Recordings]
    002 Aleem - 'Filtri Organi' (Main Mix) [Pro-Zak Trax/Concrete/Logic]*
003 Amen! UK - 'Passion' (Original Wand Mix) [Feverpitch]
004 Basco - 'The Beat Is Over' [Deconstruction]
005 Man With No Name - 'Teleport' [Perfecto]
006 Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
007 Faithless - 'Salva Mea' (Sister Bliss Remix) [Cheeky]
008 Sueno Latino pres. Valeria Vix - 'Viciosa' (In-Progress Mix) [DFC/ZYX]
    009 U.S.U.R.A. – 'I Got A Feelin' (Feelin' Mix) [Time]
010 Deep Dish - 'Stay Gold' [Deconstruction]
011 Tin Tin Out - 'Dealers To The Dancefloor' (Adventures In Tin Tin Out Land EP) [VC Recordings]
012 Quench - 'Dreams' (Extended Mix) [infectious Records]
013 Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
014 Galliano - 'Freefall' (Peshay Remix) [Talking Loud]

    * the second track of this set is apparently not Freak & Mac Zimms - Spin Me Wild, it was released in 1998, I reckon Filtri Organi by Aleem or Alëem is the right track n.2. It was heavily caned by the likes of Pete Tong, Jules and many other DJs around 1996. There are Filtri Organi samples in Spin Me Wild, though.
Some awesome and some awful tunes in the set. A pumping classic Dreams by Quench and Galliano´s broken beat pearl Freefall in are my favourite tunes there.

  16. Hello to everyone here!

Big thanks and respect to the Judge Jules Archive Godfathers as well as all crew members who keep it going!

I joined up some time ago, have not been active though. Now, finally, I hope it is my humble turn to expose some audios with Judge from back in the day. I hope you are going to enjoy several excerpts from Julesy´s KISS 100 FM London era and BBC Radio One in late 90s. For me, all started in December 1994 during my stay in London when I randomly or by accident, while tuning up the radio receiver, caught 100FM frequency with Judge´s house as well as proggy vibes and I have been trapped ever since. From that moment on I have tried to record Jules, amongst other house DJs, every single vistit in the U.K. and followed his move from KISS to BBC Radio One. After having been in contact with Fuzzy-Logic I believe my audio files including tracklists will appear on JJA shortly.

Please feel free to comment and help with unknown tunes in the excerpts.
