Well he is a big girl's blouse
  2. I think I over-reacted on the 2nd camera and was actually doing 30mph, but hit the brakes as I didn't have time to check I was under the limit. Point taken tho
  3. Almost as stupid as I was on the morning in question. I was thinking about whether I had been caught or not, that I nearly got flashed further down the road by a fixed camera that I knew was there! I had to brake heavily, almost causing an accident, to avoid getting a potential 2nd ticket!

Have you thought about changing the 1st 'A' to a '4'?

    eBay

Yeah, I guess I'll have to. It sounds like there's problems with the seller as he/she has no listings on atm and he is a PowerSeller. All very strange. I've emailed the seller, so I'll have to wait to see if I get a response first. Thanks for the advice Aza.

Yes, I did pay with PayPal. Trouble is, I don't know if I have a valid dispute or not!

    eBay

I'm getting a bit annoyed with eBay. Recently I've been disppointed in numerous ways, but nothing that would really warrant negative feedback - maybe I'm too kind? Incientally, I am also unable to leave feedback on this recent debacle.
  8. My experience at the British GP wasn't that great but I'm glad I've done it. However, things seemed to have moved on a lot and Tom rates it highly. I also rate GG highly. Sadly I've only ever done that once too.
  9. Snap! Talking of Amusement Parks, I read that the Corkscrew at Alton Towers has closed down after 28 years. I bet a lot of people on this board have been on that rollercoaster? I remember queuing hours to go on it soon after it opened. Its amazing how technology has moved on and now its quite tame really.

Its been good to read of his progress through the last few years and I wish I had more time to listen to his mixes.
  11. Difficult one - its potentially the last GP @ Silverstone, so that would be a good one to tell the kids. GG does happen every year, so you could do that in 2010...that seems ages away doesn't it lol.
  12. Cheers Aza. That does sound a better mix of it. btw, how far away does that stupid SpaceShip style DJ booth want to be? Jules has always got it right in wanting to be near to the crowd.

    eBay

A bought a book on eBay last week and paid straight away as it was a Buy It Now (and in any case, I had to, as the seller insisted on it.) Over the weekend I had an email claiming to be from eBay but it wasn't in the usual format, so I presumed it wa Spam and deleted it. The book turned up today, but I'm pretty sure it should have been a hard back, but I was sent a paperback. So, I log into eBay to check the listing and see I have an email from eBay. It turns out the above email was genuine after all, and it said that the book I purchased had been removed from the listings as it didn't meet the criteria (it was very vague) and I wasn't obliged to complete the purchase - not very useful on a Buy It Now item, insisting on immediate payment. So, because eBay have removed the item, all the links are now dead and I can't see if I'm right or wrong about it being a paperback or hardback. (This might all sound a bit trivial, but the paperback would have been much cheaper on Amazon and I only checked eBay in case it was cheaper.) So, eBay have caused me problems by removing the listing and sending an email to me way later than when I paid - surely they should have realised I had paid and refunded the money straightaway? I have contacted eBay and the seller, but I'm not too hopeful on this one.
  14. Boo...that's that loophole closed then Thanks again for the info mate - much appreciated  If I get a ticket, no doubt I'll come back to this thread and vent my anger, but if you don't hear from me in about 2 weeks time, I'll have escaped!
  15. I would like to know too! HELP!!!!!
  16. Aza, thanks very much for the info. Its very useful knowing that if I haven't heard within 17 days I can forgot about it. Another Q you might be able to help with: The section of road in question isn't signed as being a 'Camera Zone.' (ie, there's none of those silly little pictures of Victorian Cameras) However, the 'Safety Camera' van did have them on it, but you can't see them until its too late. Surely they wouldn't be able to issue a ticket in this case?
  17. There's one news story that just runs and runs and runs.
  18. It always shocks me that approx 10 people die on average on British roads every day. And no-one seems to be doing much about it. Probably because you don't hear about it, unless there is a multiple on a motorway. If that many people died on the railways every day, there would be an outcry.
  19. Yep, I realise it isn't big nor clever. I was done at 4.30 in the morning many years ago doing 54 in a 40. Normally I wouldn't have been speeding, but I had a courtesy car and was giving it some, like you do when its not your own car. Even if I don't get a ticket, its slowed me down already. Job done. Isn't the system wonderful lol.
  20. I was driving happily along to work in a Monday morning daze and caught glimpse of one of those pesky roadside mobile 'Safety Camera' Vans a bit too late. I'm hoping I wasn't speeding enough to warrant a ticket (probs no more than 5-7 mph over) and I was in the offside lane so I'm hoping the cars in the nearside blocked its view. But, if they do decide that my clean license is to be adorned with 3 points for stupidity, has anyone any idea how long it might be before I come home from work and realise I have to empty my bank account of £60?
  21. Any chance I could do a mix? I'm working all week and have to take the cat to the vet on Saturday, but other than having a lie-in on Sunday and changing a lightbulb in the afternoon, I'll get to you a week today Sorry, Jason, I couldn't resist. You've done a great job getting this far and I'd dish out the links now if I were you. Maybe someone else would like to organise it next year?
  22. Sorry, Number 2 - complete misuderstanding. I'm totally with you now. This thread is becoming an age-related one! I'm with you, Chrissie. Its all about how you feel, but lately the hangovers are much worse they used to be
