Pardon my ignorance, but who is Claudia Cazacu? I don't think I've ever heard of him/her.

Well, had a good listen to my SS mix over the festive period (Aza's), and have to say, I absolutely loved it. Some tracks I was aware of, some not so much so. Lots of it is from a period where I wasn't as actively paying a lot of attention to Jules (well not as much as I used to anyway), due to a lot of stuff going on personally, around that period, so it's great to hear a lot of these again. Great flow to the set, and absolutely perfect mixing.
Personally I loved:
5. Intrique - Latino Nights (Motivation Mix) (Nebula). Loved this, great atmospheric wee track, with a great riff.
8. Frank TRAX - Nebuchan (ORGAN Remix) (Neo Records) The biggest riff of that time for me, I think the last trance breakdown to my the hairs on my neck actually stand, still does.
10. Mekka - Diamondback (Angeles Remix) (Perfecto). Class track, moody and pounding. (I actually had this on my first draft of my SSmix, then took it out!)
13. Yahel - Open Your Mind (Magikal Remake) (Black Hole Avanti) Awesome tune, don't think I'd heard it too often before, reminds me of something very recent although I can't quite put my finger on it.
All in all, a top, top set. Had me hooked from start to finish. One I'll be going back to lots of times. Thanks to Aza, and to Jason for setting it all up, musta been a right pain! Gonna get stuck into some of the others now soon.

15. Meteor Seven - 'Universal Music' (Unknown Mix) [Temprogressive]
I think it's the 'Club Mix' or 'Circus Mix' as this one is different from the 'Jam X & De Leon's DuMonde Remix' that Jules played on Danish radio in 2001. Can someone verify which it is?
Well I've done some digging, it's not the club mix, nor the Circus mix, nor the Scott Project mix, but it came up on you tube as the Paul Van Dyk mix. His unofficial bio has it on there as well, saying it was never released.

Sketchy I know, but it definately isn't any of the other mixes which are far more banging.
edit: Mixriot have it on his tracklisting for Loveparade 2000 too: http://www.mixriot.com/content/paul-van-dyk-loveparade-2000

You're absolutely correct...!
*Punches the air*
Nice one. Thanks for the new audio by the way. Will get stuck into a few of these very soon and respond. Great to see some fresh stuff up!

I think I've corrected some of Jules' set (not 100%, so maybe someone could check?)
Judge Jules
01. Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
02. Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
03. Safri Duo - 'Played-A-Live' [AM:PM]
04. Warrior - 'The Warrior' [incentive]
05. Kristine Blond - 'Love Shy' (Electrique Boutique Vocal Mix) [Relentless]
06. Yves Deruyter - 'Factor Y' (Talla 2XLC Mix) [bonzai]
07. Benicio - 'For The Love Of You' [iD&T]
08. Hi-Gate - 'D-Tune (Earplugs)' [incentive]
09. Da Hool - 'Eichelrück' (MG Mix) [Additive]
10. Yoji Biomehanika - 'Seduction' [Aztec]
There is no tune between Loveshy and Factor Y, so there are only ten tracks. Haven't had a chance to listen to the rest of the set yet.

the original version of Teenage Kicks was played? ... by The Undertones?
Yeah the original. The Undertones are from Derry. It was amazing to be honest. Definately Jules played it. He opened his set with it. I remember some twat launched a glowstick or something at him as he started, and thinking he was gonna walk off, then he launched into this. Mayhem.

Sorry, forgot to write back on this. Interesting one this. Not a classic in the 'anthems' sense, but loads of the excellent funky house Jules used to cane on this. Less of the better known anthems. Although still pitched up to the max as was par for the course then! As I said, love bits of audio like this, with some stuff I'd never heard. The Viagra tune!!!!!!! What the hell? Funny as feck.
Agree bout the E17 track too, although all the Sharp Boys stuff was ace to be fair. Love the way they used to try and disguise who the real artist was. I remember Jules playing a Yomanda mix called 'G' or something like that on white label. Turned out to be Geri Halliwell's Bag It Up!
Thanks again for the upload.

I was at this. Nearly 100% sure Jules played Teenage Kicks, not Col Hamilton. Jules opened his set with it. Nearly brought the tent down. Amazing moment.
-
I was just having a nosey round, and saw no-one had commented on this. Gonna grab it, and report back later when I stick it on the ipod. Love finding old audio like this. Thanks for the upload.
By the way, I had to laugh, the stick we're giving Jules about playing B.E.P. etc, isn't; E-17 - 'Betcha Can't Wait' (Sharp Boys Club Mix) [Telstar], East 17? Although to be fair, the Sharp Boys had a bit of a name for doing tough remixes of pop songs as far as I remember (think they remixed Britney even) *edit; yep: http://www.discogs.com/Britney-Spears-Baby-One-More-Time/release/420965

Can anyone ID track 21?
I've seen this in a few different places now. It's infamous at this stage. It's got over 2000 views on you tube
and no-one knows still, and just one reply. -
Thanks man, oh dear, its one of those obscure random mp3 sites
Forgive me, I'm a complete novice to all this side of things, but is that site dodgy or what? I thought it was legit enough, minimum sign up of $20 etc. I was seriously considering signing up, it's got loads of classics that I can't find elsewhere. Thats a shame if it is.

I've found that Quake dub mix I think, although I don't know if it's just the vinyl you want. I've had a look through that site, and there's some real hard to find gems on it. Anyone ever use it?

When was that? (Year)
Hmmmm. Jules did play the Temple Theatre many times late 90's early 00's, but none of it was ever broadcast as far as I know. Have a look at this though (took me ages to find), off Jules' old tv show on Rapture Tv I think. He plays the (now long shut) Temple Theatre. http://www.4shared.com/file/189609726/f0a89790/Judge_Jules_Temple_Theatre.html
Maybe he means this one though; http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=386

What kind of a username is that eh?
His initials, and the number of posts he intends contributing by the looks of it!

Cheers Fuzzy. Those tunes are the reason I found this site. Sankeys was a massive favourite of ours, and I was always dying to know for years what some of those tracks were, (especially those two), searched for a tracklisting, and found this place. I needed to lie down for an hour however, when I saw the vastness of sets on here!
Incidently, I'm (hopefully) going to start dj'ing again, and I'm trying to build up a digital collection, but I find the tracks like I mentioned above impossible to find. Are there any sort of specialist classic trance (that era) download sites?
-
A recent thread made me revisit this again (on good old fashioned cassette). Definately my favourite set on here, particularly these;
03. SPX - 'Straight To The Point' (X-Cabs Remix) [inversus]
18. Madelyne - 'A Deeper Love (Beautiful Child)' (Gizeh Mix) [Liquid/Xtravaganza].
Does anyone know much about them/ have them? All you tube has are cheesy versions. Can't remember Jules playing them any other time.
-
Oho!! So the missing parts are actually out there.. nice1 milkybarkid!
Sending it to me now might not be a good idea for the time being, as I'm about to move.
It would be a shame if it got lost in the moving madness. Maybe our Tape Maestro Mr. Simcut can help out!?
I'll have a look, hopefully I still have a copy. It probably won't be great quality though, coz I think I copied it before I sent it to Tim, and sent him the better version.
*edit, I've had a look, and I don't seem to have it, but I'm pretty sure a mate of mine has one, so let me know if I can help. But it can all keep until you are all less busy. It's worth the wait.
-
Sankey's Soap for me too, although probably more for personal reasons, it was the most listened to tape among all my friends.
I think the energy and tune selection on that set was just amazing.
It's a pity the full set isn't up on here, as the start of that set is the best for me (even though Jules doesn't even mix one of the tunes at the start, although I believe there were big problems with the mixer that night)
By the way, Fuzzy, I sent Neuro a cassette with the missing section on it, maybe if you asked him, he could dig it out for you, although I'd imagine he has loads waiting to be sorted.
-
This is scary how long I've been searcing for this mix.
That Matt Darey mix of Technique, only got uploaded for about 4days on you tube before being taken down. This is why I love this site.
Will grab this when my crappy broadband limit lets me.
Muchos graziaz senior Simcut.
You have no idea how envious I am of your back catalogue
Long may it continue.

Hmmm the pilot must've seen it twice aswell then, unless Carl Cox IS a pilot?
Hmmmm. No no, nothing silly. Carl Cox is magic. Like santa.
-
I think Carl Cox was the only person on earth to see in the millenium twice if I rem right. Oz was 1st place to celebrate it, then he flew somewhere else to ring it in again. Dont rem where tho. Yeah mines was pretty good too, but by damp squib, i mean clubs charging £50 to get in, and everyone having house partys. (The Millenium Dome was a big flop if I remember right). No complete meltdown of all things electric was nice aswell!!
-
If memory serves me right, Radio1 had something like a 12hr broadcast that night, and had Carl Cox live from a beach in Australia early on. He was playing on 3decks, and the wind kept blowing the needles all over the place. A night for technical problems all round, on prob the biggest damp squib of a night ever!

Cheers man. Nearly sure I own a couple of Couture tunes. Just shows you. Jesus, I hope Mrs O'Riordan isn't the jealous type!
