Great show, but I am certain that the tracklist is wrong.

As I pointed out in an earlier thread some time ago, along with Jay, there is a tune between Lizard and Boogie Monster which needs IDing. As such the tracklist should look like this

07. Mauro Picotto - 'Lizard' (Tall Paul Edit) [VC Recordings]

08. <--- ID --->

09. Armand van Helden - 'Boogie Monster' [Armed]

Have a look at this thread for the fill ins and outs of the the debate, though I think we should continue any discussion in this one as this is the support thread for the audio download.

Track 8 is definately not the Tall Paul Remix which sounds 100% different. And, track 7 definately is the Tall Paul Edit.

Ah yes, I remember this debate! I am unsure myself... the actual recording is very confusing. May Sir Spin is correct? I am certainly leaning towards him anyway (in terms of agreement I mean, obviously)

Can we make a definite audio clip?

track 7 isnt the Tall Paul Edit I dont think, I'll check the mp3s I have later....

Track 8, I have a feeling, is a different mix of Lizard.....its quite intriguing though as its very different to the typical Lizard track....

I've got a VC pressing of Lizard with the both the respective Tall Pall edit and remix on each of the flip sides. When I get home (I'm at uni at the moment) I can look towards getting some rips up. MP3 tags, especially from tunes from this era aren't 100% reliable.

Finally, as for whether the track which needs id'ing is another mix of lizard or not, well thats open to wild speculation to be honest. Jules doesn't give us enough information to work with in the link which is highly ambiguous to say the least. Secondly, we don't know the providence of the original tracklist. If it was straight from the radio one website, we all know how inaccurate they could be, and this long since the show was brocast mistakes can become entrenched.

The strongest peice of argumentation that we have to work with is a synth line Jay said he recognised in track 8 from another mix of Lizard: the 'Trance Mix'. I've not heard this so I can't say either way. That being said, it's not solid enough ground to stand on to have it listed as an unknown remix of lizard in the tracklist. It has to be recorded, until a positive tune id is given, as unknown - unknown.
