Quadrant
Yep tribute to another one of Simcut's tapes! He is the invisible legend! I downloaded this ages ago. Would have been one of the first times Veracocha graced the airwaves too... my word.

Spin Doctor
On what other occasions did Jules cover for Tong on the Essential Selection? I recollect this happend a handfull of times, but I question my memory.
Neuro
There were a good handful but they missed our radar. Jules even subbed in for Dave Pearce on Dance Anthems once on Sunday night - something you'd think he'd do more often but it was incredibly rare. Again, we don't have the date or tracklistings for it, although I remember it happening. Can anyone remember if Jules would follow this Essential Selection with his Friday 9-11pm slot? If so, that would be 5 hours of tunes from 1 DJ.... unthinkable on R1 today!
JasonB
I think at least one Carl Cox did Jules friday slot after Jules did the Essential Selection? (from what I remember from Mixmag show listings).
drtim
I have one of Jules' Essential Selections somewhere, i will look it out and see if it is here already. If my memory serves me correctly, on that evening he was followed by 2 x 1 hour mixes, one from PVD, and one from Ferry Corsten?

Dance Anthems on Sunday was frequently hilarious with the callers in, and I'd be interested to hear how Jules handled it. Now that you have mentioned it I think I can just about remember this, however probably the power of suggestion rather than any concrete memory shaken out of my brain cells. JasonB
I remember Jules doing dance Anthems a few times too.
Dr Slinky McVelvet
Hopefully this helps? I've been digitizing my old tape collection, I know it's only 25 minutes long but hopefully it adds some more to the missing audio. CM5
That's an excerpt from Clubber's guide to 99.

Judge Jules, Essential Selection Studio Session (25 mins) I agree with CM5, this excerpt looks (sounds) like Clubber's guide to 99 official CD release, the pace of the Clubber's guide and the excerpt is almost identical. The question is whether Judge had a kind of "white CD" with a pre-released clubber´s guide to test the audience reactions or so, or he had mixed the tracks in such an order that were later used the the official Clubber´s Guide compilation. Check the discogs Clubber´s Guide to 99 compilation and the TL of this exerpt below. I also little doubt this excerpt was on 19th Feb 1999 during Julesy Essential Selection cover for Pete Tong or later during his regular slot that day. He would probably not play the same tracks more than once in a single show. Southside Spinners, ATB are featured in the TL for this show and tracks before and after in TL are different from the exerpt below. 001 Southside Spinners - Luvstruck (Original Mix) used in the Clubber´s Guide to 99 comp. but not mixed into ATB below Following tracks are used in chronologically same order as Clubber´s Guide to 99 CD though 002 ATB – 9pm (Till I Come) 003 Yves Deruyter - To The Rhythm (Signum Remix) 004 Aptness - The Answer 005 Hands Burn – Good Shot (Original Mix) 006 Roadblock – The Rules 007 Invisible Man – Give A Little Love 008 Boccaccio Life – The Secret Wish
