Old tong / ramplin/ peel / jules shows

Recommended Posts

Hasn't got full shows but bits of shows here and there as recorded way back by the guy who runs that site.

Listening to one file which starts at tongs 03/07/98 shows near the end there are some bits from Jules shows including a old friday night tried & tested (looks like it's from one of the shows without a tracklist) an ace tune I've never heard before (which sounds better than a lot of trance tunes today): http://www.discogs.com/Trilby-Home/release/635088

Well worth a look and listen!

Good find, will have to have a trawl through these.

Listening to some from September 2001, it sounds like they are speaking a bit slow. Although Jules drops a track called '1st Impressions' by Dave Joy in the 8th Sept show, forgot about that belter.

The slow speaking is usually because the recording is from tape - some players were more efficient than others in this and certainly battery-driven devices would struggle to playback tapes at the beginning and ends where one cog was heavier than the other!

Will certainly look into the Jules snippets here though as we can always speed them up and EQ them - thanks Jason

Jedi Knights - 'Roland's Revenge (Knights Of Jaguar)' [uS International House]

ALso 1999-02-26 The Essential Selection (Judge Jules covering for Pete Tong) is actually TONG, not a Jules cover show

as this tape contains the following tracks from said show with Tong talking during!

Kay Cee - 'Escape [signum Remix]' [Go Ltd]

Plastic Boy - 'Twist' [bonzai]

The Essential New Tune

I can actually remember lisetning to the begining of the show when Tong played a Britney track so Moyles had to donate a tenner to comic relief!

Agree excellant find, looks like could date the Sonique sesh I uploaded to 1st of May '98? not tried downloading ote yet but some of the tracks mentioned look very similar to those on my tapes (unsurprisingly) as I did tape off PT too....

....just checked my little note book and seen the refs for DR and Madonna a couple of times and Esperanza....exiting times - just going exploring!
