  1. so its causing epic problems at the airports, and the knock on effect of this is substantial, but some of the pictures of the eyjafjallajokull volcano are immense...it's just mother nature reminding us that we really are insignificant...;

  2. this is why i prefer the Creative mp3 players. I've got a Zen Touch x-fi2. Yes the touch screen is nowhere near as good as apples etc, but it does exactly what i want it to do and Creative Centrale is waaaaaay better than iTunes for organising music. I've never liked iTunes.

  3. Jason, you should watch it! It's quite an accurate portrayal of late 90's clubbing. I started going out in 1999, and it was kinda similar to this - i was the only in our group though that never dropped. But when i watch i can relate to it so much. Its a very good film, especially the "come down" scene with Orbitals "Belfast" playing - well shot too. Highly recommend it.

The characters are spot on too, pretty much like most groups of clubbers, i think out of our group at the time, i would probably have been a bit like Jipp...

  4. so, i've had a bit of good news on the dj front recently (i'll let slip soon)...but in the mean time, i thought i'd do another mix, so here it is.

  5. but hey, isnt that why we pay road tax? they're quick to take your money off you or straight on your back when you dont pay up, but as soon as the roads are in a bad state it takes ages before anything is done about it. OR is it that all the money we pay on road tax get used up paying middle management extortionate wages for doing little more than pen pushing?

  6. so, like, what the f*** is going on with fuel prices? It's an absolute disgrace...only two months ago round this neck of the wood it was £1.09p a litre for petrol and £1.12 for a litre for diesel. Now its jumped up to £1.19p for both! Worse still, 9 years ago when i passd my test it was about 75p a litre!!!

What seems most bizarre though, is there is no uproar to this price hike? i remember when the fuel strikes tok place, that did the trick to some degree and the powers that be started to panic because the strikes probably affected them aswell...funny that isnt it.

I wouldnt say i'm totally dependant on my car, but i do live on the edge of the city, and i need the car to get to work, its now costing me a friggin fortune. It doesnt help that i work unsociable shifts when public transport isnt running either. I'd like to know how much of that £1.19p is tax, this has to be the handywork of Gordon "f******" Brown and his henchmen. If they want to tax something heavily, then do it to a. Smokers (sorry those that do, its your choice but its us that foot the bill when the ol' throat/lung cancer kicks in), b. Booze (yes it pains me to say it, but think of the cut in binge drinking, and subsequent freeing up of resources for hospitals and police for those who REALLY need them). I can see why they rape the motorist, its got to be the easiest touch out of the lot because most people these days are dependant on cars. I have never voted before cos i cant stand politics or politicians, but i AM going to use my vote this time, and it wont be labour...

Im rambling on now, but i needed to get this off my chest, but how much is fuel round your way?

  7. i've always been pro becks, for me, he was/still is one of only a few who "seem" proud to wear the england shirt and give it everything he's got. If more had the passion he has, we wouldnt be a constant failure at national level. The trouble with our players is, they earn too much, too soon.

England will miss him, yes, he may be a fringe squad player, but he's now got experience to go along with the talent.

  8. Heres a lil' mix i did earlier, check it aaaaaaaaaaaaatttt.

  9. Its a shame, becuase as some may know, i liked that Danny Byrd remix of Sweet Harmony when i heard it on Annie Macs show in January 2009 when he still hadn't finished it. It just seems odd the way one moment its about 128 bpm, then it rises all of a sudden to about 160, then back down again. It just didnt work for me. It "felt" very weird. But, that said, i have no doubt the crowd will absolutely love it.

Jules seems to be getting back into his Drum & Bass doesnt he. This is the second D&B remix he's done, and i'm sure i heard another D&B track on this show last night near to when he was talkig to Tiesto.

That Aeonism track, like that, been after that since i heard it on a Paul Oakenfold pdocast from november, 2009. Back then it was tracklisted as Empire Of The Sun "Rule The World" (Aeonism Remix)...might be why i could never find it.

  10. A lot of people seem to think FL Studio is a bit, well, toy though. I've never used it, but surely, ultimately they all pretty much do the same? I know Laidback Luke used to use it though, and Dave Spoon uses Reason, so i guess its the ideas that are important, not what software you use.

  11. Oh dear, thats pretty fail for pioneer if thats the case.

I've not sen any in clubs yet, i've only played a handful since they've been released and not encountered them yet, nor have i seen them on my clubbing travels. I think they may be a smidge to expensive to become industry standard...?

  12. scratchworx article

So, it had to happen sooner or later with ioneer no doubt wanting everyone to jump onto the 900 or 2000's.

    What are yout thoughts?

I think now, we are starting to see the dominance of DVS systems, most dj's seem to be falling for them now. As a DVS user myself, i can see why. They're more flexible in everyway than a cdj ever could be. I also think Midi controllers are going to creep in now.

So, they've had a good innings, been trusty, reliable and real workhorse. They'll be missed. Interestingly, the mighty Technics 1200/1210 still refuses to die!
