  1. Really? Tong's that I have bought in the last few years have been pretty underground - Wonderland 2010, Future Underground and 3 All Gone albums. He did do a ridiculously cheesy Essential Dance Hits cd in 2006 ... WTF??? :rubbish:
  2. I have to admit that I was disappointed by Jules' last show. I put up with the modern first hour to hear a bit of history. Obviously we will all have opinions on what Jules 'should' have played, but for me some of his choices seemed quite odd given how, when you look back, he absolutely hammered some tracks, ie Plummet - Damaged, Mauro Picotto - Lizard, Needle Damage - That Zipper Track, DJ Elite - Fuct Camera. I remember him saying that he was onto his second copy of 'Damaged' as he'd worn it out!! Thanks for the memories Jules, and thank God for the archives - i'll be playing his older mixes for many years to come!
  3. Sven Vath's 'The Sound Of The ... Season' series and Tong's mix cds are still worth buying IMO.
  4. I'm old enough to say that I was out clubbing in the late 90's. For me it was the summer of '99 that will always stand out the most. Jules' tunes were just so strong and as a bedroom dj I admired his mixing and stage presence.
  5. YES! That would be brilliant - thanks! I have just noticed that on the Clubber's Guide To ... '99 album it says it's on Serious records - but never actually got released by them? Tim.
  6. Ah it was the bloody Lange Mix that I heard and have loved to this day! Looks like I will have to make do with the original mix. They just don't make records like this anymore imo (old git)!!
  7. Thanks to this fabulous forum i've found it!! It was Gold'n'Delicious - 'Ascension' Now to track down a copy on vinyl ... Tim.
  8. Hello all, I have just discovered this forum - fantastic! I have been looking for years for a tune that I heard Jules play in a club in April 1999. The only other time I have heard it was on Dave Pearce's (sorry!!) Millennium Eve mix in Scotland - though a different mix of the tune. I have searched all of Jules' Radio 1 tracklists from around that time and id'd as many as possible on Youtube. I have even e-mailed Jules personally but he couldn't remember! The track is tough trance, is has a massive breakdown and then the build-up sounds very like the strings from Enya's 'Sail Away' and there are some tympani drums - b-boom ... b-boom etc (to save time it's not Nightmare or Synth & Strings!!) If this rings a bell for anyone I would be very grateful! Cheers, Tim.
