  1. I take your point TomBailey, he doesn't play out as much as most. Though he is at all the major dance festivals, Creamfields, Gods, SW4 and is involved with the Warehouse Project. He goes to the US quite a bit too. With his Ibiza residencies, cd releases & legendary Radio 1 show I was just a bit surprised he's not there, that's all.

    Perhaps it was TD's idea.

Is there actually any other DJ out there who plays such jingles in their club sets (when not even being broadcast)?? "PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIIIIIIIIIIIIR" No. I'm off home.
  7. Some real tripe here people!! For me 'Lizard' & 'Nightmare' will always have a special place in my heart, not just because I first heard them on fantastic nights out, but because I do think they are genuinely special records. Ayla - 'Ayla' features in many a Top 10 list, but i have never understood the fuss!
  8. So far any that I have are already on the site, but I am steadily getting through them and will let you know! Tim.
  9. I remember when Evans was doing the brekkie show on Radio 1.
  10. Thanks Craig!! Such a brilliant record!! I have Jules' shows from around that time, I just need a full, high quality version, with no jingles!!! Tim.
  11. My name is Tim Westwood - no shit!
  12. TomBailey: It's rather odd, I had a listen to this album yesterday and 'Ascension' is mixed in and then out of, as you say, in under a minute and way before the breakdown! This must be because of clearance issues? No wonder I was having trouble tracking this record down!!
  13. Yes i agree. Though this seems particularly hard to track down. Not even on white label, only acetate?!! It would have been a massive commercial success I would have thought (particularly with a vocal over the top). Hopefully I will get an MP3 copy of it from Neuro & Simcut.
  14. Great! Let me know what you think of it! Summer 2012 Mix Tracklisting: 01. Oxia - Harmonie 02. Huxley - Let It Go 03. Dusky - Tyto Alba 04. Maceo Plex - Falling 05. Mr Jean Louis - Sensuelle (The Cube Guys Mix) 10. Romeo & Noiz - Take Me Away 11. Omnia & Ira - The Fusion 12. Subliminal Cuts - Le Voie, Le Soleil (Dumb Dan Mix) 13. Green Velvet - Flash (Nicky Romero Mix) 14. Sebastien Leger - C4N Y0U R34D 7H15 ?
  15. Unfortunately she knew just how much they meant to me! :boohoo:
  16. Hi all, I'm loving this website! I have downloaded quite a few of Jules' early shows as all of my tapes were lost in my divorce. To try to contribute something back here is a link to my latest SoundCloud mix. Hope you enjoy! Tim.
  17. Tristan's Facebook Information Relationship Status: In a relationship Siblings: Jake M. O'Riordan Birthday: 07 March Current location: London, United Kingdom Hometown: Brighton, United Kingdom Political Views: Conservative Religious views: Christian Would explain a lot though ...
  18. Ok, wow, I see what you mean! Rather odd that Tristan would put Jake as a sibling on his FB page. Bring on Jules' autobiography!!
  19. I take your points - I remember him playing a Geri Halliwell bootleg in 1999 :ermm: I have a few Jules mixes from 1995 / 1996 and there is a big difference in style between then and the late '90's. I heard somewhere that Tristan D helped Jules with filtering through tunes. Does anyone know more about this? I guess it's all down to personal choice, perhaps Jules loves the music of more recent times just as much as the older stuff!
  20. Jules' tunes changed dramatically in late 2001 / early 2002, and at around the same time he switched from vinyl to cdj's. He was suddenly getting music from different sources. Do people think this played a part in the different direction that he took or were there other reasons? (I don't know much about his team of selectors for eg, did they change?) I would be interested to hear people's opinions. Tim.
  21. Really? Tong's that I have bought in the last few years have been pretty underground - Wonderland 2010, Future Underground and 3 All Gone albums. He did do a ridiculously cheesy Essential Dance Hits cd in 2006 ... WTF??? :rubbish:
  22. I have to admit that I was disappointed by Jules' last show. I put up with the modern first hour to hear a bit of history. Obviously we will all have opinions on what Jules 'should' have played, but for me some of his choices seemed quite odd given how, when you look back, he absolutely hammered some tracks, ie Plummet - Damaged, Mauro Picotto - Lizard, Needle Damage - That Zipper Track, DJ Elite - Fuct Camera. I remember him saying that he was onto his second copy of 'Damaged' as he'd worn it out!! Thanks for the memories Jules, and thank God for the archives - i'll be playing his older mixes for many years to come!
  23. Sven Vath's 'The Sound Of The ... Season' series and Tong's mix cds are still worth buying IMO.
  24. I'm old enough to say that I was out clubbing in the late 90's. For me it was the summer of '99 that will always stand out the most. Jules' tunes were just so strong and as a bedroom dj I admired his mixing and stage presence.
