I'm sorry to say I had to turn off after half an hour. Many on here will say this was to be expected ... but imo it was truly awful. :wall:
Does anybody know, is this what he plays at Judgement Fridays?
"... Jules returns to Radio 1's Essential Mix tonight with new music from Arty, Mark Sixma and Binary Finary, alongside some of his own productions and classics from Mauro Picotto, Brainbug and Hi-Gate AND a little bit of Angelic magic in the mix."
I saw a relatively recent video of him at MOS and he appeared to be playing off of USB on the CDJ2000 Nexuseses. He could archive tunes easily enough but it's finding the time, i suppose.
Thanks for the offer mate. It's definitely NOT a grinding noise!
I know a chap who used to work as a Pioneer engineer. He then went freelance and serviced my DJM600 last year for a very good price, so I will have a chat to him.
Tim.
Ah ok! I've just read that Grum says his 'inspiration' was taken from this, released in 1981. Looks as though Corporation of One borrowed it in 1988, Dave Lee then borrowed it in 2001 and now Grum has too.
This is Raven Maize's 'The Real Life' from 2001 (which in itself samples a Queen classic);
... and this is Grum's 'The Theme' from 2013;

Hmmm ...
Thanks Briggsy, it has been functioning flawlessly (touch wood) but just whirrs quite a lot. Whenever i've used them in clubs obviously it's too loud to hear that, but at home when the volume is low it is noticeable. Will get both serviced for peace of mind i think. Cheers for your reply.
Tim.
Hopefully not just "Tracking Treasure Down"!!!
After careful consideration, I would love if he could include either of the following:
MIKE - Sunrise at Palmos
DJ Elof pres. E Love - Vrantique
Riva - Stringer
Nash - Dreams
Lume - Lume
VPL - Showtime
Warrior - X
Hand's Burn - Good Shot (Fontaine & Vern Remix)
Rank 1 - Airwave
Singles & Angles - Submerge
GD - Choral Reef
Well there's hour 1 sorted!!
Hi all,
I have a load of Pete Tong shows from 2006. Trouble is, Radio 1 has now removed all the track listings this far back. Can anyone help me out?
Cheers,
Tim.
Trouble is, I don't really want a journey through his current sound :rubbish: - that is available in his monthly mix.
I hear there is a new Angelic track included also.
Scroll to the bottom of the ad and you'll see that the buy it now price is £1300.
These should be £4600. So how does this scam work?

Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone here has a CDJ1000 Mk3?
I have recently acquired one and have noticed that it seems pretty noisy - I can hear mechanical movements from within the unit when a cd is being read. Is this normal or does it need an overhaul?
Cheers in advance!
Tim.
I've never really understood why clubs insist on cranking up the sound systems this loud. Is it simply because they are run by people who have already lost their hearing? I realise that the volume is stepped up during the night (as our ears start to protect themselves!!) but why not simply start at a lower db to begin with?
Agree! Musical folklore and word on messageboards worldwide implores every serious dance music fan to already have this on their shelf. Still play this loads and it has not dated.
I might even say this is where the word "classic" was first coined in terms of that late 90s Trance explosion in the UK.
Not arguing with the 'Classic' status of the tracks here, but pretty sure I have them all and mixed by Jules rather than Ferry?? Are Ferry's mixing skills worth the purchase of tracks I already have?
