  1. And anyways, how can you say his standards have slipped, when he is the very same man who used to belt out Nappy Hardcore week after week? I think its people's sense of humour that has slipped, Jules has played s*** for years.
  2. His name's not Steve Och same old argument, I liked Jules when I was 15 to 19ish, then moved on, I don't really see the problem with what he plays now, but now that I'm 26, it goes without saying that my tastes have changed since then. Not my bag anymore, but there are plenty of dj's that I like instead now, and I really can't understand the idea of being a 'diehard' Jules fan. If he doesn't play music that suits you then listen to someone else, he's only a dj after all. Just listened to his show from Friday for er, research purposes. Not really that different to 8 years ago to be honest! Noticed he played a Will Atkinson remix.
  3. It would be very interesting as a poll if it was accurate. The fact that Jules is considered one of the top 100 djs in the WORLD is hilarious. I'd put money on most of the djs on here being better than Jules.
  4. Saw him at Meganite Ibiza last year, was pleasently surprised, quite similar to Marco Carola. Worth checking out if he's playing locally.
  5. That was one of the happiest days of my life when I found that tune in about 1999 lol. Still absolutely love that.
  6. Good thing you didn't use your middle name, not sure if its just me, but as soon as I read that I had this in my head  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B7bVD_DkM4&feature=fvw
  7. Sounds like a gay electro house crossover of these two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujKrVgdg3Mo&feature=related
  8. Rubbish, look what its done to people. He could have said the numbers fell onto his board from a bird s*** in the sky and it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. The next time he does something I bet even more people watch it than this, mission accomplished. Its not about credibility, its about viewers, and he's certainly got them. Geeeenius publicity stunt right after a failing Big Brother finished, well in Channel 4. The fact no one knows how he done it is even better, people still trying to work it out for a good while after is better than finding out the solution then forgetting about it! Brown wins!
  9. First double post in about 10 years of message boards! :oddcake:
  10. Bloody hell, just had a wee look on Decks.co.uk to get a rough idea of dj prices these days, £845 for a pair of 1210 Mk2's, got my Mk3's for £630! Serato?!! £429!!!! Mine was £299.99! I see you can get a free £20 Beatport voucher with that for an extra £20, excellent!
  11. Haha they deserve all they get for paying to see ATB.
  12. I'll admit that I haven't really heard any newish Pioneer mixers in bedrooms etc, but I've got a DJM 600 and the sound is, and always has been, honking! Well, compared to A&H's on the same setup. Its like cassette vs cd imo.
  13. I'd have to disagree there, the quality of sound in Pioneer mixers is terrible, on a big system anyways. Good enough in my bedroom likes, but quality of sound / cost, Allen & Heath all the way!
  14. The tree by the pool has proper character I love a good tree me. I'll show you what I mean tomorrow.
  15. Sorry Neuro, you replied I was typing that. My opinion is, its the promoter's night, full stop. Contract or no contract, the dj, who the promoter is paying good money for, should be as flexible as common sense permits, just like in any other job. Its really not rocket science, even after alleged statements from 4 different parties, I still cannot see what the big deal is. Pram. Spat. Toys. From. I can't even believe these people are adults, its insane.
  16. Haha what a shambles. So who actually played before PvD then? Not that I actually care lol, the whole thing seems petty as hell, regardless of who is to blame. Kids these days!
  17. Nah a BMW whilst DUI could result in an RTA Simon!
  18. They should get a massive fight arranged, a cage match of sorts, ATB vs PvD vs AvB vs Svd vs the RAF vs AC Milan vs the FIA vs MOS vs the KLF vs WWE vs UFC vs BBC vs BMI vs STD's vs a DVD of some TNT exploding a JCB right onto JOC's face. I may have taken that a bit far there. Scored a bit of an OG. Argh for f*** sake, bedtime.
  19. That's a very good point mate, and to be honest when people ask these sort of questions I always kind of take it for granted, where as the reality is I was in the exact same position 10 years ago! But looking back, I don't regret spending more than I could afford, cos the exact same decks and mixer are still going strong 10 years on. There's no shortcuts to buying dj gear. My mate's mixer is proof of that lol.
  20. Just noticed, you must really have wanted the answer to this, how do you even go about triple posting lol Got a right funny image of you hammering the mouse.
  21. Personally its a no brainer for me, I have my 2 1210's running through 2 channels, use one for my sampler, but most importantly, (as this is is about 2 or 3 channels lol) my 4th channel is used for all sorts, laptop goes through there, handy for ipods etc at parties, good if someone brings round a cdj for some 3 deck action etc etc. Basically, for the money you pay compared to the rewards, a 2 channel mixer is pretty much a daft idea. 2's restrictive, 3's versatile, 4's handy!
  22. Rubbish, scampi fries stink, scampi does not. Usually stinking of ethanol and sweat by that point anyway
  23. Was very nearly disappointed til I got to the bottom and found Sea Bass, food of kings so it is! Cheers for this, forgot how much I liked it, haven't had any since my last night in Ibiza in 07! On a different note, properly cooked Scampi with loads of lemon is my favourite pre club dinner ever. I absolutely love most seafood, but for some reason I can't stand salmon? LOL @ Lynnie asking what Fanjita is
  24. They are both :ill: especially that David Guetta tune, its honking.
  25. Quite a good interview that, and as w***y as he quite often sounds, I can see his point / ideals completely. He's been there, done that, rammed clubs week in week out and there's no denying he was awesome at what he did, and anyone who thinks he is merely selling out now is simply jealous. Whether you agree with his principles or not, the man is ridiculously successful and minted to boot, and is obviously enjoying himself in the process. Love him or hate him, then or now, you've got to admire him, man's pretty much a genius. Not sure Vegas is the new Ibiza though
