I don't know where it goes on a iphone when opened in a browser, but on an Android it goes into the 'Downloads' folder. If you can't find the file on your device, you can download the file on a computer (Windows/OSX/Linux, etc) and transfer the file to your device.

Welcome to the site... You need to have posted once before you can download from the audio archive.

As you have done so above, you can now download any audio, but please do comment and share any old stories related to Jules or the clubbing experiences living in the audio archive

Personally when a big name like Jules says he doesn't have it anymore, I take that as he can't be bothered to dig the DAT/CDR out to convert it. from a DJ's perspective, there's no real gain for him.

This was a tune he promoted exclusively in his sets and it stood out. I also sincerely doubt that he would have the only copy.

He is getting more positive feedback as of late and the fact that he is trying to play oldskool trance now instead of championing that god awful edm/electro gash by supporting some of his main signature tunes gives us some hope.

I'm not so sure about that... He has replied by mail on several occasions over a timespan of 10 years to different people that he doesn't have it anymore.

The fact is that he has moved and changed studio several times.

Back when Jules made the tune and Hans Zimmer vetoed the use of it, Jules might have thought it wasn't a big deal to anyone.... sure, it went down well with the crowd the few times he played it out, but he might simply not have had the same enthusiasm about the tune that we have had all those years, so maybe he simply canned the CDR/DAT or maybe the original project files was lost in a studio move.

Who knows? I sure don't... but I like to see the best in people, and the above explanation might be it - but of course I really wish Jules has a copy somewhere

I've got quite a few of his monthly mixes in MP3 format from around 2003 onwards.

If there are any you're missing, let me know... I got them all from 2002-2013 (missing august - december in 2013 though).

I have on purpose not uploaded them to the audio archive because they were available on JJ.net, but now it shouldn't be a problem

Searchy: Cheers, I've downloaded what I could find of Jules related from that side, but as you say, it's an absolute mess figuring out what is what.... Maybe a collaborative effort in sorting it all out would be the way to go some day.

I can't seem to replicate this issue you mention. Which device and software are you using to play the file? At what time exactly in the file is it starting over?

On my Windows machine the file plays fine in Winamp, Windows Media Player and VLC.

On my Nexus 4 (running Android 5.1.1) it plays fine in Google Music, Vplayer and VLC.

The very first time I saw Jules was at his second visit to Denmark in the summer of 2002 when he was promoting this very compilation. I recon I have the flyer somewhere with his signature, unless it was lost in the flood a few years back.

Great memories of him playing Shi Du Khan, Close Cover and Universal Music. Good times :thumbsup:

What a tune - at the time - and I'm sure Jules hammered the hell out of this. I can't recall who was the first dj to receive the exclusive on this - or at least play it on air on R1 - was it Jules, Dave Pearce, Tong - or was it Oaky? Oaky eventually signed it...

Edit: Tim, think you/we should also ask Jules to take his pick and add in his own fave track in this honour too ??

Oakey famously was handed this while playing a gig, and immediately played -twice- in his set after listening to it there and then (which was a major rarity due to the masses of cds handed to the dj at the time). He then snapped it up for Perfecto instantly.

I will absolutely contribute to this. Major props to Jules for this too. Will come up with one of the less obvious classics that just scream 'Jules' to me later. Tempted to pick one of the old techno, dave the drummer stuff he used to drop, just for the hell of it.

Must say, can't see many other big djs agreeing to playing a tracklist like this picked by others, for fear of getting tunes they wouldn't want, or don't fit with their curret 'sound'. Massive kudos and thanks to Jules.

Speaking of the great 'Push' aka MIKE, I'd like to add 'The Legacy' as a track suggestion. Can't believe I overlooked this as it is one of my all time fave tracks and couldn't get the memory in gear correctly to recite!

I remember Jules - probably only ever happening once on his R1 shows - having this track Tried and Tested twice (possibly was two weeks in a row)!

You're right on the nail in regards to The Legacy being T&T twice... it wasn't two weeks in a row though, but hey ;-)
