  1. Hear hear! I've always been in a special mood when I put on that compilation. It really is VERY unique and never gets old.

Heard lots of good things about that CD, yet I've never really gave it a listen all the way through.

  2. I do think that Armin has gone downhill a little since 2004, that was when he was at his peak imo. I remember seeing him about ten times that year as part of the Gods residency & he was always on form, not as good as PvD but always a banker for a good night whereas PvD could be hit & miss sometimes.

Tiesto has never really wowed me when seeing him live but I guess I was a little too late as I started clubbing in 2003/4 & his best years seem to be 1999 - 2002 or thereabouts.

Magik 6 Live in LA still owns almost any other compilation though

My thoughts exactly. I didn't miss an Armin set at Gods from Jan03-April08, and he was there every month throughout 2004. One of the best nights I've ever had was his 9 hour set in March 2004 which was so fecking good, I still get hairs standing on end thinking about the tunes he played that night. His next one for Gods birthday in Sept 2005 couldn't even touch it.

I'm just not really into the direction Armin has gone down, more proggy than anything else, but not very good prog either; exactly what Tiesto did about 5 years ago. At least PvD has always retained his own sound.

At that time though 2003-04, Armin was the best DJ in the world IMO.

  3. I think she was probably sitting! Like on a chair or sofa!

That's the other thing that puzzles me...do police officers stand on routine calls? or do they sit comfortably on the sofa?

A police officer sitting comfortably on the sofa while this guy is in his pants who has been reported as drunk as well? Something fishy about the whole thing...

  4. Great work, thanks Gregg, you should submit it onto the Discogs site, please make a note of the cat # when you can :-)

Whats the condition like by the way?

I took all the pictures and stuff to do it, but without the catalogue number I can't even start! I'll submit it tomorrow :-)

The condition is fine for a booty, the 1st beat is missing from the all important track, but it's easily mixed in. No scratches or marks on vinyl.

The CD above could be the way forward for a perfect rip.

  5. Can you have a look for it please mate? tell me the cat # I've been looking for the dub version of Quake - Mantra for YEARS :( I f****** hate the Vocal on it.....

    Cheers

OK mate, just been to my parents and had a look through my vinyl.

    It's a double A side white label

    A: Mantra (Forever) Vocal Mix

AA: Mantra (Forever) 12" Dub Mix

    B: Pete Heller's Big Love

There is a small catalog number etched into both sides of the run out groove, but it isn't clear in any of the pictures I took and I didn't write it down. I'm going back tomorrow though on my way home from work so will double check that for you then. It begins with a U or a W (it looks like both on the different sides), but I can't remember the other letters.

Not even sure there's any print on it other than the track names..one side might be Pete Heller's Big Love, can't remember. It's at my mum's house so I'll have a look next time I'm there for you mate.

I got this someone on the Godskitchen board selling off their old trance records around 2004 I think. It's definitely the dub mix as I hated the Essential release myself and never bought it! I went mental when I saw it on his for sale list and got it straightaway! lol don't think I paid more than a fiver for it, but I bet it's highly sought after now. I should get it checked out and submitted to discogs.

  8. #4 isnt Quake - Mantra on Essential, its a dub that was never released...... cant find any vinyl entry for it on Discogs either....

the 'Essential Recordings' release of Mantra features a crappy vocal over the top of part of it.....

so 4 should be Quake - Mantra [white label]

Cheers for the tracklist update Jase :)

I've actually got the dub mix on vinyl. It's 3 track white label, Mantra being the 2nd song on the flip. The other two tracks were quite poor but I can't remember what they are now.

  9. Ah, you sir have some taste, that Piledriver track is fecking superb, and I also love the Spiritual Healing tune too! It was going to be released on Neo Records..... back in the day I rang up Neo Records and spoke to them about the track and they ended up cancelling it's release, real shame imho, I still need to track that down.... :(

Also, Neo Records sent me a copy of Scott Bond's Essential Mix on tape, the quality is really decent, I would record it and wack it up but there's an odd moment on the tape recording when they suddenly record them playing the vinyl of Pulp Victim - The World 99 just randomly, or was it Lovechild - Liberta......one of the two anyway! other than that the qusality on the tape is spot on! That mix is so effing amazing by the way!!!

I seem to remember a thread about Scott Bond's Essential Mix on here a few years ago, where we've talked about Spiritual Healing before now. I listened to the mix and heard a brilliance in the track I'd not heard before (and reminded how good the mix was, again lol). I think I bought it then, for about £40 I think?

The most I've ever spent on a vinyl was £50 for Orkidea Unity. Still quite rare, but I saw it go for £30 on ebay only a few weeks later. Totally worth it though as it's one of my favourite tunes of all time.

Simon - I think Scott Bond finished that set with Pulp Victim, so it was probably Liberta that was dropped in lol. Would be good to get a good quality version on here, the one I uploaded has the odd pause on some mixes, where a cd track marker would be? Like it's been transferred to a CD, then ripped back, track by track for the mp3 using a crap ripping program!
